I'm quite happy to politely debate everything you've said but, before I do, can I just ask ...

... do you work in an office environment?

Thanks, I'm just trying to get my head round your thought process with all this.

So, have you ever chased prospective employees working for other similar companies, have you asked them to move from one end of the country to another or even change countries ...

... and has the offer only been for a few years guaranteed?

In the last 11 years in the UAE..many times. The process was as I outlined. The roles I recruited for were high profile positions. The key (imho) is to manage the situation not let the person you want manage you. But to answer your question yes I have

Not sure what you have against Bus Drivers, but I can assure you they deserve the same respect in the recruitment process as a CFO or a General Manager.

If you have recruited for such lofty positions as you appear to be boasting of (not sure why) then you'll understand that most jobs are advertised, have applicants who are then shortlisted and interviewed. Recruiters score the applicants and make an offer at which point salary and T&Cs are discussed. Often recruiters will have to go to a 3rd or 4th choice applicant.

Football is a whole different ball game at the elite level. Jobs are never advertised, nor do they have a list of acceptable qualifications/experience (outside the usual coaching licenses).
Usually clubs will draw up a list of candidates from the usual set of coaches on the circuit OR they'll go off piste and look at foreign markets based on recommendations or referrals.

Is that succinct enough for you?

Not boasting at all, simply outlining my experience...also nothing against bus drivers...which you brought up in the first place.

But reading your reply, you do seem to be involved with football recruitment...well in your head you do anyway...

"and has the offer only been for a few years guaranteed?"

I would say 70% of the time the roles were full time...but yes some contract work was recruited for on certain projects

Nope, I have no involvement in football other than as a fan. I DO have a brain in my head though and can see the obviousness of what is in front of me. Nor am I clouded by an agenda that stops me seeing sense.

And have these short term contracts required someone to move their families to a different country?

Nope. I don't agree anything with people who have half-baked theories they try to pass off as fact.

with that I agree with you...cos your ideas do seem half baked for someone who is not involved in football recruitment yet seems to know a lot about it
