Small thing, first world problems and all that but annoying for me all our midweek games are Wednesday and not Tuesday night games.
Genuinely buzzing at being the last game at Goodison. One of my favourite grounds and will be a brilliant occasion. It's the first time I've actually got excited about next season since Wembley
Isn’t there new stadium barely done and they haven’t got any money? Wouldn’t surprise me if they stayed at Goodison for another year
Think barely done is an exaggeration and completion was aimed for end of this year so hopefully enough of a margin there. Apparently they requested not to be home on final day so they're obviously confident this will be last season.
That fixture list contains zero excitement on my part. It's all a bit underwhelming to be honest. Meh.
End of the season worries me. If we presume that all the teams that went up are scrapping for survival along with Everton and Nottingham Forest (due to money / FFP worries), that's two 6-pointers away *and* our last two home games are against CL contenders! I would far rather be playing teams that are on the beach at that end of the season. Let's hope we don't Jones it and squander our run of winnable games. I'd like us to be safe by mid-April.
Why are Everton seen as nailed-on relegation candidates? Are they expected to get another big points deduction? Or are people expecting them to have to sell half the squad? Only without the points deductions they'd have been 11th or 12th last season and even with them they seem to have ended up well clear of relegation.
Yeah they won’t be anywhere near relegation. Be surprised if Forest are as well with their squad. The three promoted sides are (currently at least) miles behind both of them squad wise Of the teams in the PL last year Id have Brentford as the worst, they have just spent £30m on a striker who may change that
Relax Jabie, it's far too early to be worrying about the end of the season already. Anyway, I can put your mind at rest on that one as we'll probably be relegated before those 6 pointers. There's always a silver lining.
My soul needs us to play well and beat Forest at home first home game of the season. That home game against them in our relegation season still gives me nightmares. Worst thing (I'm not going to call it a game of football) I've ever paid money to sit and watch. Dreadful, dreadful performance and tactics killing any last real hopes that we had hired a manager that could keep us up with still half a season to go made worse by the fact that Forest were ****ing dreadful too.
