I just cannot see us going for a guy who has two years in management and one of them resulted in relegation. You/the poster may well be right but I'll have a hard time believing it until it is made public.
Don't know much about Regis le Bris so I've done a very short amount of research. Two seasons ago, he was getting plaudits and had Lorient fairly high up the table. The article below talks about their tactics being unique in some respects but it appears that they were a low possession, direct side. They were, however, trying to find a way to counteract the high press but this basically meant knocking the ball around at the back to try and draw the press onto them and then exploiting the spaces that this left. It suggests that le Bris is thinking about the game, and not just following what is currently de rigeur, by looking to find a different way to play. It also suggests that the football might not be that great to watch. If he is genuinely a candidate, it further suggests that the club don't know what kind of playing identity they want as it's another leap to another kind of coach and at odds, to some extent, with the character of our squad. https://theanalyst.com/eu/2022/10/lorients-unique-overperforming-attack-under-regis-le-bris/ The obvious caveat to this is that, if he's a good coach, he won't necessarily set up in the same way with us.
Le Bris can **** off like. Categorically do not want him. I know Bayern have just taken relegated Kompany, but I don't want us taking a relegated manager.
Kompany also had a relatively brilliant season before the relegation. I dont get the sense this guy did.
For perspective, Beale had a better record here (33% win rate) than Le Bris has had at Lorient (30% win rate).
Don't want Le Bris because of playing style. People can disagree because everyone has a preference on how they want the team to play but I just don't like direct, playing the percentages football, would much rather dominate the ball. Don't care about relegation though considering if he was appointed this time last year people would be calling it a bit of a coup.
Average squad age of the players he used most last season was 25. So it's not even as though they can say he's amazing with youth, right? Won 50 odd games as Lorient B manager in 150 odd games.
Reported in France they had the 8th biggest budget in the league the season they went down. https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.c...al-failure-sees-lorient-relegated-to-ligue-2/
Was he in charge of transfers or is it like here and they have someone who does that for him? Jesus, it gets worse.
Quite a random I thought this after reading through the opta article, the way its described seems a bit misleading when you watch how they are direct, its through quick passing through the lines https://theanalyst.com/eu/2022/10/lorients-unique-overperforming-attack-under-regis-le-bris/ The clips its showed mirror our goal v reading that we loved Granted I would not be excited by this appointment
