If you want to have a laugh go look at the ratings sky gave the team. You’d think we were prime Spain dominating and smashing one of the favourites 5-0
Maybe a bit harsh but OK. I agree on the full backs they are not there to do anything but defend. Walker especially as he is the one thst should be contributing more as the natural right side player. If city ran him up and down the line he'd have blown up years ago. He sits narrow for City and uses the pace he has to get back in to defend and thsts all. I'd give rice a 7.5 as I felt he held it all together and had a lot of work to do. Bellingham prob just about 8 but mostly on first half and getting kicked and pushed and fouled all the time. I'd give most of them 6 bar the obvious pair who just didn't perform.
Looking at some of the comments on TAA (on alot of platforms), I'm surprised we ever won the PL, CL and all those other cups with him in our team. Apparently he's the worst player ever. So much so that Real Madrid are trying to convince him to go there if he doesn't sign a new contract. Much be an terrible player if the current European Champs want him. Unlike Worldclass Varane who they were happy to get rid of. Ridiculous really
Of course it is but the self same pundits who wants bellingham and foden in modified would the turn on rice for not running 5 lkm extra to cover them. They'd then blame the back 4 for letting in goals etc. My ideal is joe gomez gets 15mins v Slovakia as a reward and watches trippier and shaw all tournament as the second joe plays lb he will be to blame for whatever happens as its Southgate last option If walkers gets injured and trent goes there then the same balme game would start... Trent would literally need a goal.and an assist every game to **** these clowns up. It was a rough game with the ref keeping cards largely in his pockets so it was stop start as well.
I can't be bothered looking, but I presume a lot of it is just rival fans having a dig? Only to be expected. As a fan of Liverpool and Trent I can only repeat that I've never been convinced by him in that midfield role. An unpopular opinion to be sure, but I just think he's more effective in the wide role he had with us from the beginning. Tight control, a short quick passing game aren't his forté, and there others who can play decent 10-25 yard passes. His great strengths are set-pieces and the vision for and execution of pin-point long range passes. Out wide he has the opportunity for this, not so much in a crowded midfield.
He needs time and work. I'm not impressed with him with his back to play. He is very square on and can't turn but then neither could henderson. I think he could focus on being the best at getting up and down the line wide and providing assists but for wjatever reason this run into the middle thing is now in vogue.
That was ridiculous but they missed other chances albeit not really good ones bar the one off the line
Commentators constantly surprised that there is alot of fans of each nation at the games. It's almost like Germany is in the middle of Europe.
