I don't get to many games but am I the only one that rates Bergovic? He is prone to the odd mistake but most keepers are at this level and his experiance must be good thing to have around the squad.
I rate him highly too how many clean sheets had he....a lot more than most I imagine yes he made a few mistakes but over all he had an excellent season with us without him we would be looking forward to league 1
It's hard to quantify, but his balls-up against Plymouth in the run-in certainly got the sphincter pulsing prior to a couple of good performances in the final games. For a keeper of his experience, both his distribution and control are atrocious - I won't be sad to see him move on
All the hate for Begovitch and all the love for Sinclair makes ne wonder about us supporters. Which one helped keep us up

It's not hate....and I personally don't particularly rate Armstrong either, but it's definately time for us to find a new keeper....Begovic is nearly as old as some of the posters on here, he'll be drawing his pension soon! I'm sure Marti has replacements in mind, and we have to trust his judgment. If he opts to stick with Begovic, then so be it, but I'll be surprised if we see him in the no1 jersey come opening day of the season
Begovic made some strong saves last season that kept us in the points. He’s not that bad and became part of a confident defensive team under Marti. That said he’s not the long term future. Not sure what we were paying him last season but I would imagine Nourry would be looking to bring it down. Ideally we need a younger, more long term, keeper prospect. Which would be my choice if it was free reign. But if budget management means he stays to strengthen elsewhere, he’s not the weakest part of the team or the most urgent to replace.
He has some very strong elements to his game but also some very weak elements. I think that's why he is so divisive among the fans. But I disagree about him being a good choice at this level. He shouldn't be having those weak elements and making those kinds of mistakes at this level, at his age, with his history and on his wages. It seems to me like he is too old/stubborn to coach those weaknesses out of. I tolerated him last season because of his strengths and because we needed stability. However, I actually always liked Archer and wished we'd given him a chance instead. Would have been cheaper!! I honestly can't say Begovic is currently a better keeper than Archer.
I am fed up to the back teeth with all the click bait re Sunderland after Marti. I assume / hope it all comes from some third rate Sunderland supporting journo who'd like to see it. Surely our board would not be that daft to let him go for any figure at all? (Okay, maybe silly money but not otherwise!)
