They did get a goal but a tough night for them.

    As expected probably.

Need to pick themselves up quickly.

Red all day long. He got the player first with one foot and the ball with the other. Could have been nasty.

Mrs Fez said it's the best Germany performance for some time. I have to agree.

Small consolation for those of us in shock - that was such a typically inept and embarrassing performance from Scotland. They may as well all join Porteous on the flight home now.

They have two games to salvage some pride and return home saying they gave it their best shot

Germanys next game will tell us whether they are as good or Scotland as bad as that game inferred

Classic England performance in the opening game of a tournament.

Might get away with it .

Big improvement needed. Why play at walking pace, before the game was safe?

Yes we were doing fine first half so not sure why we were so lacklustre.

Didn’t help we couldn’t keep the ball and someone like Foden wasn’t in the game .

BB. whilst the Scots gave a good impression of being the worst team in the competition the judges here are now claiming England as being the most boring team to watch. But the Germans are in love with the Scottish fans and consider them to be the best singers - the others just make noises. The English don't come out well here either.

The Tartan Army have certainly worked wonders on themselves - two or three decades ago they were horrendous.

    Small consolation though...

Very good win and they played well.

Thought that handball call was harsh though but sounds like the new laws means the refs have to disallow it .

    Unlucky there i feel .

A two game ban for Porteous! That's that then!

Getting a little bit away from what's happening on the pitch the biggest losers of this championship so far has been the German Railways. Already one of the least efficient in Europe they are doing their best to cement that reputation. Some England fans needed up to 4 hours to get away from the stadium in Gelsenkirchen last night. There has been similar rail chaos for Scottish fans, Italians and Belgians so far. A story of delayed trains (normal in Germany), trains being altogether cut out, trains stopping for hours between stations, overfilled trains when they do arrive, and a complete lack of staff to give out information (and if they are there their info is often contradictory). Somehow they are going to have to get up to 40,000 Dutch fans from Hamburg to Leipzig and then to Berlin for their 3 group games without incident. Any logical planning would have seen groups played in the same locality to avoid this. But apparently it was going to be a green, environmentally friendly championship and the Deutsche Bahn would secure this - as if all Germans apart from the organizers don't know that the German railways are a catastrophe.

    Well
So, all things considered, a rail tour of Germany is not recommended? Chiltern, who are my local network, are owned by DB. Your post explains a lot!
