A win is good and all, but that really doesnt improve my feeling that we are considerably off of the pace of the other frontrunners.

After a season of watching Saints/Martin, that was...er...different.

Gallagher needs to start in place of TAA going forward.

That was awful. It was fine to get three points but an absolutely garbage display. Gave up the initiative after 20 minutes and never took it back.

That 2nd half was so bad I started singing in my head "Dusan...Tadic, woahhh woahhh". Still a classy player.

Oh please. It's just a case of getting the result at this stage. Gritty performance. I actually thought we looked very solid which is actually encouraging for me. Guehi was a rock alongside Stones, Rice was class in front of the back 4 and Kane did a good job second half of holding the ball up. Plenty of improvement needed, but the ability to grind out a 1-0 win is a much underestimated quality. I thought Southgate did well in bringing Gallagher on when he did. Bowen also provided a spark so he got his subs right.

Wins a win. But my god that was painful. That was for the most part, an awful performance. No balance in that lineup and I hope we don’t see it again. Obviously doesn’t help not having a LB, but that wasn’t the only problem.

Serbia 0-1 England. That's all that counts. And we weren't really poor. Serbia hardly created anything.

Which seems to be the main reason why he is in both the squad and the team.

Not pretty to watch, but that will do nicely. Needs a dead ball specialist, do we know of one?

I think we were fortunate they never had Tadić and Mitrovic on at the same time

Pickford made one good save from a speculative Vlahovic shot from outside the box. Just because they had more shots it doesn't mean they had more chances. I never felt they would score.
