General Election 4th July ...

Been reading a bit about here, France and Italy and it appears the far right are on the rise again, especially in Europe.

Or am I misreading the articles?

 

Populism is the far right way of doing things. See Trump in US, Farage here and their counterparts in Europe. Hitler started it in the 1930's.

 

But would the trains be nationalised and HS2 ever finished

 

Scary times if they are on the rise.

In my opinion

 

Yep. Any extreme form of politics is dangerous, be that right (fascism) or left (communism)

 

Well at least Hitler had the trains running on time

 

I will happy if some adults can get a grip of things, have the awkward conversations and actually put in place policies that help everyone.

As i posted before if I have to pay an extra £20 a month to help fund the NHS or other services those less fortunate need, then so be it

 

Our friend Thatcher drilled into people that "there is no such thing as society" and that we are all individuals. This has led to the selfish world we now live in and the sod everybody else I'm alright Jack mentality. Fine if you are rich, not so much if you aren't

 

So much wrong with that isn't there.

A sad state of affairs

 

An inevitable result of governments increasingly ignoring the people who vote them in.

 

We have had the same government for 14 years? Not sure how that means the far right have started to rise

 

It's the fault of weak opposition man, or alternatively they are all the same. Keep up

Well it's Europe but also here.

I'm.suprised the far right gain traction on here on a tag line of stopping non English people coming here

 

It's been rumbling along for years.

Not an issue and everyone complaining is racist when it's only the poors it affects, but when it starts to spread to the more affluent areas, support for stemming the flow increases. A sensible conversation has never been possible on this, so people are forced to the extremes.

 

Yes, but let's get back to an NHS with services run mainly "in house" not a heavy proportion of funding going out in profits via private providers.

How much of it would be achievable though.

 

Must admit if I was a Labour or Tory candidate I wouldn’t be feeling very comfortable.

 

Wish I was a Labour candidate, to serve my constituency and not myself.
