Let's ensure we win first. Could easily be a draw too.

I'm just glad there's already been an upset of sorts so we're not the first.

    Dreadful result for Denmark though.

I am glad we went with Trent rather than Mainoo. Just feel like we have enough raw youth on the pitch as it is!

Not a bad team, preferred Rio’s if I’m honest.

I’m not sold at Trent at CM. I would have had Gallagher over him. And I also like Konsa a lot, and would have had him over Guehi. Other than that, not much we can do if we don’t pick a fit left back.

I think it’s a little daft how we have to crowbar Alexander-Arnold into our team. It doesn’t make sense. We have him playing in a position he doesn’t actually play for his own club - a specialist one that is quite key and at international level. It’s a joke really. Would any of the other major international teams do that?

It strikes me as this all stems from the backlash Southgate got from the media (which is massively over represented by ex Liverpool players) the one time he (correctly) left him out of the squad completely. And that he simply can’t face that again. In my book if we were back at 23 man squads he’d have a job even making the cut. Yet he starts.

And to think we complain about the Jack Stephens crowbar

Probably. I use them interchangeably (especially when tired) but shoehorn makes more sense now that you say it. Doesn’t change that it’s daft

I know there have been full backs converted to central midfield before - but they usually do it for their club sides before it is tried internationally

While TAA doesn't officially play in midfield for Liverpool he so often wanders into midfield he should be comfortable playing there.
