The Afd are strong in the former East Germany but that's a very simple answer, the truth is they are gaining ground across Germany as are right wing populist parties across all of Western Europe in France, Italy and Holland in particular, not just former Eastern Europe.

BBC on radio reporting England fans kicking off. Turns out it was Serbian Fans. No point letting the truth get in the way of the story you want to report.

It's quite a cluster **** of reporting but there's a friendship between some Albanians and Brummies, it was a mixed group that attacked the pub the Serbs were in, in another incident England also got battoned by the police for attacking another bar Serbs were in.

Before the tournement it was all over the media that 500 Serb ultras were looking to attack English fans, i don't think the days done yet.

But those are both from a click bait account. Can you see anyone wearing England Colours in those two?

All the video's of England fans singing 10 bombers almost all are wearing England Colours.

There may be England fans involved, I mean we do have form, I've not seen any England colours in the video's I've watched.

Because for decades their parents and grandparents had communism imposed and them and were prevented from leaving by walls, barbed wire fences and machine gun posts. Now they have a free choice and realise communism didn’t work. Good job there isn’t a charismatic orator for them to get behind.
Ironic, as pre 1933 Berlin was a left wing stronghold and the Nazis never got a majority of votes there.

Sorry Newland, not trying to cause any issue with you, but even the thing about Brummies teaming up with the Albanians. One of the other posts on that account shows all of the flags they've nicked. (That's a big thing here in Sweden) That flag could just have easily been nicked from England fans as everyone in that picture in a mask.

It says a masked gang (ever seen masked gangs of England fans) attacked a bar where both English and Serbs were. How awful of England fans to defend themselves. It did show an England fan with a head wound, obviously head butted a chair or bottle that was in mid air, and an England fan getting booted on the floor by a group of them.

    Right forget the flag thing,
In the first video i posted did no one see this on the back of the lads shirt ? there were English in that group and also as Cityzen pointed out there were English sat drinking/eating with the Serbs also. The second video i posted look at the clobber, theres a lad wearing a tacchini tracksuit not something a euro hool would wear, all of the euro ultras groups wear predominantly black.

So, England fans who were attacked and defending themselves could get banning orders? Are Corcoran and Pantsdown involved with our police there?

I work and have worked with quite a few Romanians- you would be surprised at how many say things were better under Ceausescu.

It’s not that far-fetched, Castro. A lot of Eastern European and Balkan boomers have a nostalgia for life under the communist regimes, even if they weren’t communist themselves. I don’t think people understand just how awful the transition was in many Warsaw Pact countries. State-owned infrastructure was privatised and sold dirt cheap to party functionaries and oligarchs, corruption was rampant, unemployment went up massively, prostitution and sex trafficking increased massively, there was hyperinflation, standard of living dropped drastically etc.

Economic ‘shock therapy’, as it’s called, was disastrous for the average citizen behind the Iron Curtain. It took decades for things to normalise and many countries are still feeling the effects. The likes of Poland and Czech Republic are doing reasonably well now but things were rough even there in the immediate years after the collapse of communism.

In footballing terms, it was like us sacking McCann, who wasn’t great, replacing him with Shota (who was much worse) and eventually getting Rosenior who slowly steadied the ship.

What's that got to do with it?

I lived and worked in Romania back in the 90s for two years and visited fairly regularly till mid 2000s. For sure there were people who were better off under Ceausescu but as time goes by that number is getting less and less, but even today you will find some who yearn for the good old days.

Like Gaddafi in libiya a mad dictator but gave the country by far the best schooling and hospitals in all of Africa.
