That would definitely have been the case. His pattern of results was largely the same as Mowbray's had been up until he left. Win and lose roughly the same amount, draw the occasional game.
It's not as simple as that. There is nothing to suggest we will play as badly ALL of next season as we did for A THIRD of last season.
I wonder if we revisited Julian Sable at any point? Just been looking at articles about Digard and saw that Sable has been rumoured to be taking over from Farioli at Nice before the old Lens manager was confirmed.
Kind of controversial but kind of not. Beale clearly shat the bed and lost the dressing room. I think if he'd stayed the season would have turned out similar to how it did. If pressure hadn't been unreasonably applied to him from the moment he showed up and his meltdown had been avoided, I think he'd have had us in a much better spot come season's end.
Its also about 2 months till the season start so not sure why folk are saying we'll be relegated nxt season We have a whole transfer window to go and we will appoint a manager (at some point) How we did last season wont have an impact on nxt season, the only way it might have is if we have the same manager in charge - dodds will 100% not be the manager next season Now i get folk feeling down about the fact we havent got a manager in yet however, really dont understand writing off next season. I understand not being excited for next season at the minute but thats totally different to writing off the season Our squad isnt good enough to challenge for promotion but its def better than being involved in a relegation battle - obviously we would need a half decent manager for that and not a mike dodds type!!
And if we replicate our form from the 15 we’d have a good chance of promotion. Understandably we focus on the second half of the season because it was awful but it really only needs three really good bits of recruitment to improve on Mowbray’s form- head coach, central midfielder and striker.
They sacked Mowbray and failed with the recruitment last season, again we still haven't got a head coach. Nothing has changed.
Yeah people are down after the way the last few months went, but it's nonsense to suggest we are going to get relegated. It's a clean slate for everyone and the sooner we appoint a manager things will pick up. We need to get our arses in gear though, time is ticking away...
Very good post, I still feel feel things will come to a head this week, whether it be an announcement or a breakthrough
Looks really sharp, fingers crossed the new head coach and owners can convince him to stay. Looks like he's been working on his left foot and full of confidence.
Dodds introduced a more defensive setup, curtailing the cavalier swagger and freedom that Mowbray had unleashed
Ok, I’m off to bed and when I wake up at 3:55am I will be imminently off on holiday with Mrs K. I’m hoping that by the time we get back that football team that we support have appointed a head coach.
