Which is surely what you would expect. Howes main job is not scouting talent so his preferences are going to be players that he is familiar with either through working with them previously or watching them play in European games etc and that he thinks can be slotted into the first team squad immediately. The scouting teams job is to unearth young talent from distant leagues and bring it to the attention of the Sorting Director. They are the ones who are meant to unearth the hidden gems.
Then where is it? Why are they not getting any? None on the list? I don't think so personally..I think there is.
I'm beginning to think we don't need as much as some people are talking about. Not being in europe gives us a lot more breathing room with the team. We had Willock, Joelinton and Tonali out for most of last season (usually 2 of the three were unavailable). Just having them back is a huge boost. Having Lloyd boost our defence and with Hall and Livramento having had time to bed in properly (I think we'll see more of both of them this season) our defence is already better. Hopefully Pope will be able to play as we missed him hugely. Finally I'd be happy to have Minteh given a proper go on the right wing, yes it's a risk but if we'd suddenly just signed him for £40m from Feyenoord I reckon we'd be happy to have a season there. I'm assuming we'll sign some players but honestly they're adding to a very solid base now. Two-three years ago it was like trying to build a house on a sinking pit of ****.

Being set up nicely by the journalists on the Olise interest...they really are enjoying throwing Newcastle's name in the hat and then reporting the player has absolutely no interest and would rather stay at Palace than join Newcastle or something. A **** knows a ****!
