I quite liked our 2012-13 solid amber and black kit, wasn’t a fan of the pinstripes though. The graphite grey away kit from 2008-09 was also great and nothing more needs to be said about the fantastic blackout kit from recent seasons. I’ve been told our kit this season is quite similar to the 2013/14 kit from our Premier League days, with slightly thinner stripes than we have now.
That would be alright as long it is not yellow like that one was and the more amber shade of the season after.
I liked the black with amber trim from a few years back when Bonus sponsored us. Some twat nicked it off the washing line, didn't think there'd be some other twat who wore xxs. Twats.

The 'kit' should be changed at least once every 10 years in my opinion. And if I had any say would never have been changed since I started going in the late 1960's! (It's just a marketing exercise) to part with us and our money when Black and Amber - stripes or no stripes, have been City's colours since the history of 1904!!
One of the ****test shirts I can remember. Different shades of amber in different places, the badge was completely out of focus somehow and some panels didn't line up where they were supposed to. Absolute shambles by Adidas, and I think we binned them off straight after that one.
Yep, was dreadful. This season just gone wasn’t great either in terms of quality and design. The front part of the shirt was stitched to the side panels with very little quality control or attention to detail which meant the front looked asymmetrical and the outside stripes had varying width depending on which size you got. There was no consistency with them. Also, the quality was just **** apparently. I didn’t get one but I had a quick look in the St Stephen’s shop and they looked and felt cheap and nasty and people complained of badges peeling off after one wash. Plus, the kit being all black at the back with only amber lettering looked like an away kit, not a home one. Kappa might have better quality in other factories across Europe but Kappa Turkey was poor.
No one is saying it should be anything but black and amber. City’s colours at the start were black and amber stripes at the start and that gave us our nickname and that is what we should have. So, you don’t want changes of shirts which brings in money. We also have some of the lowest ticket prices. How do you think we will have any money to spend given FFP?
I don't like the thought of young children pestering their parents for a new kit every year - that's all!
It used to be a new home kit every two years with the new away kit in the alternate year for a time . If kits where released just before Xmas it wouldn't be as bad as they could ask for them but as it is they are out of date within a few months
I only recall plain amber shirts from my early days of going ‘69 into early 70’s and can’t remember stripes until around the time we had Bremner in the mid 70’s? My memory may not be accurate on this and could have been influenced by photos and footage from that era.
You are correct . In fact from the end of the Second world war until 1975 we only had 4 seasons with a stripped kit .
Wow, maybe the old memory’s better than I thought! That surprises me though that there were so few striped shirts over that timespan.
