Well done mate. I had 4 months from new year after I’d broken my arm badly. Lost loads of weight and feel better for it. Only dipping in and out now and happy with that. Less wasted weekends. Literally.
Thank you It was a double edged sword, finances, and I liked it too much I didnt think I was carrying that much but lost over a stone so far
A few weeks ago I jokingly put up a post saying we should appoint a temporary manager until we found a permanent one. As the weeks go by it’s not looking as daft as was intended. I reckon we should give the temporary job to O’Nien. He has shown he can play anywhere so is versatile and a Managers job wouldn’t phase him. He can also save dogs lives if needed.
I know this is going off topic here, although this thread has deviated more than once, but….. I enjoy the odd beer and in my twenties whilst a serving soldier, drank more than my fair share. Next week on holiday I’ll have a couple of Bintangs every day. Thing is, as I matured a bit I just didn’t see the fascination in going out and getting wasted at every opportunity. I can’t work out why men of my age (I’m in my late 50s) still have the need to do it. To me they see it as a badge of honour that they still drink so much. So the question is, am I the odd one out?
I know this is the head coach thread but best thing I did for getting off the beer, without realising at the time was when I lived on the outskirts of Leicester. Going from my parents not seeing me from Thursday night to Monday night (I lived in Jarra but worked in Sunderland so stopped at my mates house all weekend) to a village pub all night every night, I just lost the fascination with it, it lost its appeal, same faces, same patter, same beer etc. I now back home but just drink at do’s and before home games. Of course I’m in my 60’s absolutely ****ed, couldn’t run a bath, and ache in parts I never knew I had, Christ I’ve even spent my beer money on something else cos I’ve got Jack **** there too.
I’m 72 and had 4 drinks last night and came home at 7 45 pm Might go out and have a few mid week or maybe not I like a few beers more so when on holiday
Nah. I still drink too much but have managed to cut out stress drinking through the week and drink moderately of a Friday. When abroad with the heat I’ll often have a sparkling water with a meal and a beer (small one) on the side as I realised I don’t actually drink much when I eat so it may as well be any drink other than a beer. I also realised that if I was out with the wife and had 8 pints she will have had 4 and I was a slavering mess whilst she was still ok, so I’ll drink smaller bottles now to not be having to go home too early. Back on topic. No cameras at the AOL this morning and I have been past twice so nothing (Smug trigger) imminent.
Bizarrely I virtually took alcohol out of my diet (I still have the odd pint) when I was on chemo. Didn't get told too but decided not to "rock the boat " and after a year found I didn't miss it that much
I’m the same. I have mates can’t stop exercise = 2 pints, some are out taking sniff and having 12 pints in their mid fifties. I often just have a pint of soda water and go home and they make out Im dull, but I’ve just had a hike or a bike a chat and a laugh. It’s nice to be out of that culture. I’ll drink when i fancy drinking.
It’s crazy because Cifuentes would probably be the easiest to get done if he wants to come. He only has one assistant which is perfect for speakman and that assistant has worked with speakman and Dodds before. Just pay the 900k and bring him here
It’s so obvious that I’m concerned we’re more skint than we’re letting on or one major shareholder is no longer willing to match the funding
The last time we took a really long time to appoint a new manager/Head Coach was when we appointed Roy Keane and we all know what happened then
