Another thing - ask any Wrexham fan, whether old or the newbies jumping onto the USA bandwagon - what they think of Cardiff and if they want them to do well. Don’t be surprised if they answer (in faux scouse accent) FO they’re southern w…..s
Just wondering Jay (yay), do you feel a thrill when Masky acknowledges you, like a badge of honour pal? I know the boys do, BFB, BT (nice as a pie), IB, Clingy, Robbie, Billy and Remote (sheep shagger) do....suck it up! Jay (yay) if you’re ever in the parish of Llandaff, give me a knock, i’ll soon find some chores for you and a bed for the night! Masky
Be afraid Jay, be very afraid. You would better off travelling via Ely, to get to games, than Llandaf. In any event never, ever, walk around Llandaf Fields after dark.
I'd bet a load of the cash that has gone into Wrexham will be bundled as selling the rights to make 'Welcome to Wrexham' and badged as a legitimate income stream, not as the owners ploughing cash in.
The Twaat Bar for this guy, should be made to sing (?) with IB ....I’m a pink toothbrush, you’re a blue toothbrush Masky Of Llandaff
"People are starting to compare us to Cardiff and Swansea". Are they feck? Totally deluded. Reality check and head wobble needed. Personally I would like to see their cosy little bubble burst and they get relegated.
I wouldn't go that far as they are where they are via sporting merit (OK they spent far more than most of their rivals in doing so but so have many other clubs that aee considered 'great' nowadays). What I would like though is the media to stop perpetuating the 'fairy tale' with them at the expense of their fellow league clubs - the amount of press coverage they receive in comparison to their compatriots is staggering... I recall a few weeks back seeing the BBC home page reporting on some pre-season games and what do we have - Chelsea, Manu Utd, Man City, oh and Wrexham need a mention of course.... if commenting on Wrexham's pre-season games then where is Stockport's write up?? What about Bolton?? So, hopefully the bubble bursts slightly, they stagnate a bit and the media/hangers on lose a bit of interest and actually allow them to just turn into what they are, an ambitious League 1 club with an ok stadium and bigger budget than most in their league... Just a good job Leeds aren't still languishing down there otherwise there could be huge debates on which club is more famous
To be fair, Wrexham were mentioned alongside Premier league sides as they were in the states at the same time. Wrexham actually drew with Chelsea. It's been interesting watching the Wrexham journey and Reynolds and McElhenney have not just ploughed money into the club, but also done a lot for the region. They've got the community on board, so good on them. It's been a good tactic, which has generated the news interest. Some are starting to get ahead of themselves though. A season consolidating and having a reality check would be good for them. I read that Mullins had a cameo in Reynolds latest film as a Welsh deadpool, Welshpool. Another player got a part as well. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/56...ul-mullin-and-ollie-palmers-cameos-explained/
I’d forgotten there was this thread Mark Howard reckons Wrexham will overtake City and them down west. I so hope they come a cropper this season and their balloon is burst.
Agreed Nin. They are much too big for their Scouse/Gog boots. Don't FFP or whatever it is now, rules apply in Divs 1 and 2?
Fair dos! They invested carefully and are reaping rewards. They've used their names to good effect. And it's not cost a lot either. Many of their competitors teams have got bigger debts. Can't see FFP being a big factor.....their income has shot up. Don't forget another Welsh club has had huge investment from a sugar daddy......and said pa has also influenced investors and sponsors as part of that help......"Visit Malaysia" anyone?
