Finally getting us out of League One after years under Donald. Finding a gem in Ross Stewart who we sold for more than 20x what we paid, whilst being terminally injured. Getting into the playoffs at least a season early, perhaps even two seasons early. Losing Alex Neil and replacing him with Tony Mowbray giving us some of the best football we've ever seen at the club.
How the hell do you know this is his fault though? People were saying KLD was leading the manager hunt a few weeks ago. Let's wait and see what happens but we have no idea the parameters Speakman is working under.
No one has disputed the good things he’s done though? People are rightly sick of the things he’s constantly getting wrong.
Read that back and tell yourself those are actually achievements. F*cking hell. Where’s our “we sold a player for £9m” trophy?
The appointment hasn't been made yet, for whatever rhyme or reason, people have a chip on their shoulder about Speakman and never look at what he has done for the club with balance, literally owt could happen and some would blame him for it. Mark these words, if he goes this summer, we are getting relegated.
A successful player trading model means big money outgoings which allows you to upgrade the squad as a whole. I can't praise selling Stewart considering that money was used on subpar players.
It's money in the coffers and keeps the club healthy, if we're driving towards self sustainability this is the way to do it. If you want to sneer at it and you're a low resolution supporter that's fine, do you.
i'm not happy with speakman one bit but tbf if we have been speaking to multiple candidates we could still make a canny appointment, it just isn't Rosenior. Also looks like Jansen is going to manage a Hungarian club - might not be as amazing as we thought, there are no reports he walked from us either.
I don't like the way things are panning out but if an organisation is failing its usually cos the very top of the chain isn't leading properly. I'm thinking back to David Moyes and yes he was **** but the main problem was Ellis Short he was absent and wanted out. It was same in championship. Its all very well making speakman the scapegoat but maybe its the ownership of the club that is the real problem
We’ve sold one player for decent money though, it’s not an achievement. Championship clubs sell players for profit all the time? We spent more than pretty much every other club bar the 3 relegated teams (not including moneys received) and what do we have to show for it? Jobe? Sign 10 kids for money and pray one of them looks alright is our new transfer policy.
It’s money in the coffers that we don’t use to put ourself at an advantage therefore it’s meaningless. Bristol City got £20m+ for Alex Scott do you think their fans are sat there having a chuffy on about it?
