Not to mention the fact that his other son/Hunter's brother had died.

That too. I'm no fan of Biden, but targeting his son to score political points is just sick IMO.

I assume you mean ultras on both sides?

2 million Arab Muslims live in harmony in Israel. Many hundreds fight proudly in the IDF to defend the country they love which gives them opportunities neighbouring countries do not.

Conversely, Jews cannot live in Syria, Iran (beyond the small community that exist there in one very small region), Yemen, Iraq, Algeria, Egypt etc. they’ve been forcefully displaced and that is why the state of Israel is absolutely critical to the Jewish people. It is safety. Jews still feel safer there now after 7/10 than they feel in western cities.

There is one Jewish state in the world and it is clearly not an ethnostate. The countries around it are genuine apartheid ethnostates yet they satisfy themselves by accusing Jews of the very society they hypocritically have in their countries.

The profound obsession that many Muslims (who govern 49 countries, mostly by forceful conquest!) and western leftists have with the concept of Israel is utterly bizarre to me and something I’ll never understand.

Well I have to assume that the BBC aren’t peddling anti-Israeli propaganda and I don’t know where you get your news from

I don’t believe either Hamas or the IDF are covering themselves in glory but I do believe that Palestinian women and children are dying in the meantime

Innocent people always suffer while extreme factions battle each other

Biden crime family crumbling. Love to see it.

The big guy himself will be there soon too. Don’t worry.

But I guess the charges are fake and the laptop doesn’t exist. Must all be trumps fault.

None of those things are threatening and it’s mad you think so.

It’s not far-right to want the best for your country.

Parrot keeps chirping the same rightwing catchphrases but ignoring the hard questions. I showed you the other day that the laptop and the emails on it have never been denied, only the weirdness of it ending up with that creep Giuliani has been questioned. I can repeat the whole post but I am sure you read it.

    A few questions:

    1. Do you understand that Biden Crime family is a right wing buzz phrase?

    2. Can you find me one part of the report that denies the laptop exists? No quoting second hand sources.

    3. If someone came to you with ‘incriminating emails on a hard drive’, would you take them to the police, the FBI, the media, or… Giuliani?

    4. Can you explain specifically what you believe Joe Biden will go to prison for, with linked evidence so I can see the truth of it?

Please, no bullshit. Just direct answers. Thank you.

Biden just got done for being a drug addict with a gun. Trump is a drug addict who owns guns.

    Uhoh!

Or any response at all. You might get a cherry picked response with only some questions answered - if you are lucky

    “the big guy” - please.

Joe Biden has had one hell of a tough ride honestly.

Lost his first wife and daughter in a crash immediately after being elected to the Senate and both of his sons were injured in the accident too. He was only 30 at the time.

Then lost one son to a brain tumour when he was Vice-President, while his other son has struggled with addiction.

Yup. Sadly empathy in these cases is in very short supply.

It is when wanting the best for your country involves demonising migrants and creating scapegoats, at home and abroad.

I often struggle quite a lot with Melanie Phillips' pieces, but I do think she gets it right on how the left have become complacent, and the rise of populism (and it's problems) can be traced back to that. I don't know if you can get by the paywall, but it's a good article.

And on the flip side, Daniel Finkelstein (who I also sometimes struggle with), writes a good piece today on how the rise of the radical right *is* a concern.

The evil globalist liberal mainstream media at work here, the same paper printing two different thoughts. It's almost like people might benefit from reading disparate views by actual journalists. Who knew?

Complacency is an element of it, but there is also an extremely well-funded spiderweb of think tanks, media outlets and 501(c)(3) 'public interest nonprofits' on the right which exists to work the refs, and which in turn has normalized things that would have gotten one thrown out of polite company a generation ago. For all the talk of ohmygod George Soros, there is no comparable structure on the left. So you've got tens of millions of dollars invested annually on one side, and on the other you have...some podcasts.

I thought similar when I read both articles this morning. I also think the progressive left has pushed centrists further to the right. I’d define myself as centre right but I’m equally horrified by the gains of some of these parties (particularly the fascist party in Germany) as I am with some of the vile dehumanising rhetoric of the far left (see Clare Daly on Assad, for example). Horseshoe theory is full on show.

The left’s relationship with Assad is such an odd place to go. Assad has had support from numerous right wing MEPs, from Nick Griffin to Thierry Mariani. Looking at the history of MEPs speaking out in defence of Assad I can only see two on the left and a vast array of right wingers…

It isn’t the progressive left that has pushed the right to these positions. The progressive left doesn’t even exist in Russia and yet they swerve more to the right every year. It is the presentation of perceived views held by a minority and blown up with false stories and echo chambers which fuels the right. It is the politics of offence - which started out as a progressives being snowflakes. Now the right is offended by everything and I haven’t even heard the word snowflake in years…

No, I can’t get by the paywall, which is always the case with the Times, and the only reason I never read it. Doesn’t stop me reading articles from the Telegraph or The Spectator occasionally. The latter, once considered he in house Tory weekly, has been distancing itself from this shower for some time.

If you are trying to convince me that either The Times is impartial, or that, individual journalists notwithstanding, the right wing bias of most print media in this country isn’t a huge problem, you have work to do.

The rise of the far right in continental Europe may or may not have something to do with the failings of the left; I don’t know. But in this country, Brexit, the subsequent rise of the grifter Farage, the rise and fall of the narcissist Johnson and the lunatic Truss, can all be partially attributed to the press. The media helped create the monster, and can’t seem stop feeding it. You can include the broadcast media in that too; how many times has Farage been on question time?
