Most touches in the league in their own third and own penalty area. Amongst the least in the opposition's.

Least tackles in the whole league. Amongst the least interceptions. I know the counter argument for this is that if you have the ball more of the time then you won't need to tackle as much but even their possession stats aren't at the highest in the league.

Every stat I look at (and I know I would need to balance this all off with the eye test too so I'm not being completely dismissive on this alone) turns me off. Based on the type of football I enjoy and I believe to be effective.

Sounds like we should hound him out on day 1.

Certainly a good head coach is vital....as you say with Rohl and McKenna,it's obvious the difference it can make.
I agree with you that we have a squad with some real talent. My opinion, for what it's worth, on last season is that this talent was confused, and ultimately stifled,by over- coaching. When Mogga left,Dodds had them playing completely differently...e.g. Leeds. Then in comes Beale, more changes again in the way he wanted them to play.He goes, back comes Dodds and it changes yet again. I think the players got confused. I wonder if Dodds placed too much emphasis on changing playing style match by match to counteract the opposition. Sometimes I feel if you have players who can play, let them go and do it. There was a freedom about them the season before, and the only real difference we had was Amad. Of course,he was significant, but we had a mentality then which seemed to evaporate last season.
I'm hoping for a coach who is willing to make these players better on the training ground and then give them the freedom to express themselves.

Aye. There’s plenty desperate to defend Rosenior and make him sound like a good appointment. I don’t see it myself. Does feel like he’ll be getting the job now though…

Personally I wasn't enthusiastic about Still. And his actions have proven my suspicions about him.
Not overly excited about Rosenior tbh but I'll back him if he's our choice.

    But that's just blind faith.

I keep seeing people saying things like he'll tweak his style and become more effective here despite all evidence being to the contrary. He's an idealist, there's loads of evidence (interviews with him etc) out there of him just doubling down on his style and vision even when it's subject to criticism.

P.s feel free to call me a hypocrite at this point as I wanted Maric above everyone and if that isn't an optimal level of blind faith then I don't know what is!

I think that's why I'm happy to give Rosenior a chance. He is young but is not just a coach he will hopefully develop his tactical style.
Cant say I like the style he played at Hull mind

Personally I would like to see us adopt a much more offensive style. Like Liverpool or Leverkusen or dare I say it even Newcastle.
Where they move the ball quickly forward everything about their play is focused on winning the ball back getting forward and scoring.
Its easy to pass the ball around at the back but then that makes it doubly difficult to break them down and score.

    <laugh> Bang on

We could appoint someone from the National League and the same people would be trying to justify it.

That can still be considered build-up as far as I'm concerned, the few times I watched Leicester this season they were very prepared to sit back and pass it across the defence if an opening wasn't available on one side, it's boring but effective in that it creates movements and openings when the opponent tried to close you down, admittedly it was so effective for them because they have better players than most teams.

I didn’t have negative thoughts on those managers? I made my position quite clear numerous times I thought Still would’ve been a great coup, Wicky hasn’t really done anything worth mentioning imo he won a poor league with the best club of two eras and Jansen I didn’t really have much clue about but I’ve watched AZ a fair few times over the last few years because I’m a degenerate gambler and they played a decent brand of football but again, in a poor league.

I’m just not into the whole changing my opinion because I watch a 5 minute video then going off said person because they turn us down or vice versa. I thought Rosenior was bland from the beginning I’ve watched Hull and they have loads of the ball but do nothing with it. They’re good on the counter which worked away from home but when they had to break teams down at home they were poor.

My own personal opinion is that if it is Rosenior we’ve gone for the cheap, easy option again. Out of work, not really of any interest to decent clubs. He was wanted by a L1 club and Plymouth who are expected to go down. He wasn’t apparently good enough for a team who we expect to be in and around so why is he good enough for us? Maybe I’m missing something you’re all seeing but that’s just my own view on him. Hope I’m proven wrong and we have a storming transfer window to get behind the bloke.

It's not what I'm saying at all, I'm usually accused of being a happy clapper but I'm just presenting my reservations about Rosenior and the basis/my reasons behind it. It's just discussion - I may even subconsciously seeking for someone to present a load of counter arguments to reassure me on all these concerns.

Mental that people write off a 19 year old kid when they’ve barely kicked a ball but say you’re having doubts about a new manager and you’re apparently a mag :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    Agree with every word.

Any other bigger club in this division wouldn’t be going for Rosenior imo.

Some canny tracks but Doddsy shouldn't have been on bass on the front bench!
