The first three are rather uninspiring opposition but nothing new there.

Perhaps nobody else consider us as worthy opponents.

Newport and Exeter are virtually every year. Aldershot is part of the Stokes deal. But at the end of the day they are supposed to be friendlies to give players fitness levels, not full blooded games.

There’s a balance though. I did think last season we started the campaign slowly because we’d not had a tough enough pre season

in 2 hours of football city lost 3-0 .. apparently rotating the squad so had 2 completely different teams on the pitch from start to finishing.... Wolves have at times been touted as preying on a couple of our up and coming players but not bought in!

    Bristol City 2-0 Newport County
Second-half goals from Nahki Wells and Sinclair Armstrong give us a 2-0 pre-season win!

Thought there wasn’t much in it first half. Second half we were better, we upped the tempo and Newport were pinned back for most of the half. 2-0 was probably a fair reflection, although they missed a sitter whilst at 1-0 that would have made an interesting last 10 minutes had it been taken.

I notice Vyner didn’t feature in either lineup. Anyone know if he’s injured.

Are there any players taking part in pre-season friendlies taking the field with "For Sale" signs on their backs? There are 2 specific players that I would like to see gone prior to the season's start as long as they are replaced by better hopes, which shouldn't be too difficult I reckon. Their combined salaries should be able to get us at least someone who looks the part better than either of them, but if they should stay and try to become part of a competitive squad I truly fear for our chances of success. I am of course talking about Mehmeti and Cornick both of whom showed little of anything last season and if they are going to still be part of the magic plan again then I have even more concern for our scoring potential.

I know it's still early days to make a truly informed choice but what is your key signing so far and what would you still like to see happen in regard to player movement?

Mehmeti isn’t going anywhere, Cornick is another story, although now we have big centre forwards if he plays alongside them in a two we may well see an improvement in Cornick. Let’s see
