Hi Stroller...hope you feel better soon.

Interestingly ...Rollercoaster Ranger has also just gone down with Covid too (he sends his best wishes).

You weren't on holiday in Greece last week were you?

No, I haven't been to Greece, Beth. All of us have had similar cold symptoms this week, but mine were accompanied by loss of taste and smell, so my wife decided to take a test, which showed positive. Doesn't really make any difference, I suppose, but just shows that it's still around. Please give Roller my best wishes too.

They did some test yesterday, then sent me home……. so l must be ok. Still haven’t got the results back.

During the scan, they came rushing in, thought l was dead……. one of the leads had come away and wasn’t reading on the machine, ha.

    cheers.

Even with 6 Covid vaccinations for different variants, my partner and I both contracted Covid driving down to Florida (Fort Pierce) in late February. We obviously let our guard down and didn't always use masks when taking taking gas/bathroom/coffee breaks. Of course Wendy blamed me as I tested positive (we had test kits) a few hours before me. We sort of isolated, wore masks, but the folks where we were staying couldn't really care less. A week later after daily tests we both tested negative. My only real ailment was totally losing my sense of taste (could smell things okay). Three months later my sense of taste has somewhat returned, but not totally, which is really annoying, since as a non-smoker my taste buds were previously perfect. Wendy's sense of taste was unaffected, she only experienced light cold symptoms. Any advice on helping my taste return would be most welcome. Someone suggested taking Zinc tablets, which does not seem to help.

The day I tested positive for Covid.

Good luck with things Didley. I guess this sort of stuff just comes with the age (I turned 70 last Dec). I don't smoke, moderate alcohol consumption, swim 1 Km (40 laps x 25 metres) every day, but have somehow managed to gain 50 lbs over the past year????

I had that about 10 years ago. I went in on the trolley saw the 5/10 people in the room and the big screen on the wall. A nurse told me to lay back and keep my head down flat. I couldn’t stop putting my head up slightly , turning it slightly and looking at the screen. She told me this about 20 times in the 60 seconds it took getting politely more and more annoyed with me every time.

My wife had a heart attack 12 months ago. We are currently at the airport heading to the Gold Coast for a winter break and to celebrate the anniversary of the event. Her medications reduce after this week to 8 pills a day from 10. Small steps.
Point of the post… the CT did not identify the blockage as she had soft plaque. Her calcium score was zero. Luckily a friendly cardiologist insisted on a full blown angiogram and found a 95% blockage - stent in and “fixed” within 15 minutes.
    We are very lucky.
    Be lucky too Diddles

Last November I was diagnosed with Glaucoma in my right eye and was given eye drops to reduce the pressure in my eyes. At the follow up in March the consultant said they would operate to replace the lens in my eye as my age is when cataracts begin to develop. The new lens being thinner would correct the blockage that causes Glaucoma. I was given a date in April but had to rearrange as I was on holiday, subsequent dates in May and now 3 in June have all been cancelled at short notice, today's just two hours before schedule. I know the NHS is under pressure but it seems a level of incompetence is prevalent as well, today's was cancelled because I was not on the 'Glaucoma List' which frankly beggars belief. Because I am due to have a laser Iridotomy on my left eye which doesn't have Glaucoma the consultant's notes were mixed up! An Iridotomy is where a pinhole is made in the upper part of the Iris to assist drainage and thus reduce pressure. So there it is, I'm still waiting and taking the fekking eye drops and now pray that whoever does the operation knows left from right...
