Of course he was sacked because of the failures of the recruitment , look at what Beale and Dodds did with the same squad. Last season failed because of the owner and Speakman, that isn't guesswork, that is a fact.

On the surface, Jansen and Rosenior are more that style, even if we may get there by accident.

Aye, it'll leak when the club starts getting external parties involved as part of organising the announcement.

    Fingers crossed.

That final link is what I’m hoping for in a coach. Jansen coming in from AZ where they have a great academy and production line of you talent could hopefully be that link. Mowbray started to develop the young lads individually gave them confidence to express themselves unfortunately Beale and Dodds stifled that trying to force a shape into them. Don’t know loads about Jansen but his background suggests he can manage and develop young talent individually and also develop them tactically Don’t know about Rosenior I’m a little worried he seems tied to a rigid slow build keep possession in your own half style a bit worried we will end up playing similar to Dodds and Beales teams

Looking at who he might bring. Robert Franssen was his assistant at AZ. Still there. Another young lad at 37 or so, but has been kept on. Could we get him too. Left field shout, couls we get Cocu in as a coach. What a footballer he was, and had a side playing some lovely football at Derby. They have worked together. Suspect he bringa one coach in and Dodds stays on as well. No problem personally with Dodds being part of a setup where he is back to being a coach.

I dont think Jansen would have signed around that time. Both Ajax and Feyenoord needed a new coach. He has been in the media a lot during the past months, and also attending a lot of ajax (youth)games. He was basically fishing for those vacancies. The media always have been very positive about him and also suggested those moves quite a bit. I know he has talked to Spartak Moscow, Norwich and Lech poznan. But now Holland isnt really an option (hes not gonna settle for a lower table team), im sure he goes to England/Scotland. Sunderland would for sure make sense.

I think Rosenior would do a job here but would probably underwhelm a lot if supporters Been waiting a long time with a lot of exciting names linked. Jansen could turn out to be bloody awful who knows but his background ticks the boxes and has that little bit of the unknown to get fans excited again

I don't necessarily agree that a manager can't change style. Non-league manager I know well went into a relegation-threatened club in the Jan a few years back. After assessing the squad (a few players had left with the managerial change as often happens in non-league) he set them up very defensively and very direct. It was boring, route 1 football. The fans hated it, calling him a cnut and "the non-league Sam Allardyce". It was effective though, and he kept them up with games to spare. The next season, he revamped the squad and played the way he wanted to, which was much more attractive and much more attacking. They had an excellent season and although he left eventually, he's still very popular at that club.

So, I don't see why someone like Rosenior can't adapt a bit become a bit more attacking.

Still does look like a bit odd in comparison to some of the other people that have been linked and a bit at odds with how the squad has been built. I said this some time ago, and I still think it's the case. He was the No. 1 target because of the PR value of bringing him in. When we first linked, his stock was high and a lot of people were talking about him. Landing someone with that kind of profile would have been a statement of intent.

Quick question kind of related to the hunt for a new head coach.

TM mentioned quite a bit that he found it hard to communicate with certain members of the squad due to language barrier. There is now rumours that one of the things the club want in the new coach is them being able to speak several languages.

With that in mind why do the club not employ a translator? If a translator does their job correctly they are supposed to translate exactly what the person speaking says so this could help communicate and on the grand scheme of wages going out the club I can't imagine it being too high!

(I have worked with translators who were meant to just translate what I was saying and the answer coming back but they had been doing the job for so long they thought they knew better and would try and have the conversation and give me the highlights, so I know that can be an issue)
