Hard to imagine him leaving home and coming to England for a 1-year deal to be honest. All that said we need to agree a new contract with him whatever the previous deal was. Definitely feels he will be key to our revival, along with Nourry who seems to be shaking things up in the youth ranks.

He stays at a club on average 1.1 seasons and has moved 3 times in Scandinavia in the last 4 years before joining us. If he gets an offer he fancies he’s off I should imagine.

There is no loyalty in the vast majority of football, especially at managerial level, and why should there be, managers get sacked all the time.

True Sb. Loyalty and integrity are an oft talked about concept but never really practiced - especially in football (except for fans of course :emoticon-0181-fubar ).

Loyalty seems to be linked with reimbursement.

I have a belief that our new CEO with his data driven philosophy probably gets that. And so assume that is being addressed. Fingers crossed.

Marti is also obviously intelligent. So I suspect he feels he hasn't achieved anything yet. I hope we should worry a lot more next year

No general need for loyalty no. But Marti did stay at Sandefjord in Norway a bit longer. He came mid-season with Sandefjord already in big trouble in the top Division, improved them but they were still narrowly relegated. Got them promoted back the next season, then stayed into a 3rd season back in the top Division when as I recall they were mid-table and higher than they'd ever been. A repeat of that with us, already without the relegation, wouldn't be too shabby.

…plus the majority of managerial jobs ultimately end in failure and dismissal so understandable they’d go when their capital is highest, ie when they’re on the upward curve.

I'd guess he's come over here to ultimately manage in the Premier league. He'll go wherever he's got the most chance of that happening successfully. I'd be surprised if that's now, but he'll go somewhere better next season.

I’m expecting he will turn down Man City when Pep goes and stay with us through thick and thin.

YOUNG midfielder Alfie Tuck has signed his first professional contract with QPR.
The Wales youth international, 18, has been with Rangers since the age of nine.

During the 2023/24 season, Alfie - who began the campaign with the Under-18s - became a regular for the Development Squad, and was even named on the bench for the first team's FA Cup tie with Bournemouth in January.

"This is a proud moment for me and my family," Tuck told www.qpr.co.uk. "I'm grateful for everyone who has contributed to my journey. Alex Carroll (academy director) has made me feel like one of his own.

JACK McDowell has joined QPR's Development Squad ahead of the new season.
The centre-half, 18, moves to W12 following a decade in the academy of Aston Villa, who he signed for as an Under-9.

"I'm excited," McDowell told www.qpr.co.uk. "The opportunity came to trial with QPR for a week and I really enjoyed it.

"I really liked the players, the facilities, the coaches and all the staff. Then I was lucky enough to be offered a deal and it was an opportunity I had to take.

"Now the aim is to do well for the Development Squad - pushing to train and play with the first team.

"There is a lot of hard work ahead of me, but I know it's something that I can achieve. I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Jack also revealed a conversation set up with R's defender Jimmy Dunne ahead of him putting pen to paper.

He said: "When I came close to signing for QPR, the club set up a phone-call with Jimmy and I've
