The problem with Jansen is he’s too average looking, how the hell are we meant to spot the bugger down shields beach !
Fair enough. I know there is a fine line between keeping possession and just doing it for the sake of it because it's trendy. A lot of fans seem to hate it when we pass out from the back (my own Dad just shouts "get it forward" every time as I roll my eyes) but as long as we are an attacking threat (something not seen since Mowbray) then I'd be happy. Ideally we need a coach with plans B & C (something Mowbray didn't have)
People will always judge the most recent occurrence. On the face of it, he failed to get a talented Hull side into the play offs, but he also finished about 10 places higher than we did, so do we have any right to be sniffy about him? He seems to be tactically astute as well as being a really good bloke.
Part of how I judged past appointments was listening to them when they were pundits. I remember seeing Lee Johnson just before he was appointed and thought he was a smug prat. I listened to Alex Neil and he was down to earth and insightful. Rosenior is in the Alex Neil school - he doesn't come across as egotistical but focussed and common sense. He had a really good playing career mainly in the Premier League, he is a thinker and he has really good Championship experience including a good spell at Hull. I think one of his selling points is that the players most definitely would take to him, as I believe they did at Hull (along with the fans who were all gutted when he was sacked). I would be happy with Jansen but equally with Rosenior, who I think will become a top coach.
I can't find the post anymore but the person who mentioned concern over Hulls chance creation under Rosenior is correct to have that concern, however I think that is something that will come with time and i'd rather a coach who knows how to dominate possession but struggles with creating chances over a coach who can't control games. Jansen and Rosenior are good appointments for this squad of players and i'm pretty excited about either. Just hope it comes over this weekend.
Good thing we have a transfer window coming up also could be making some mega money off a couple sales potentially. We could really invest with a couple sales
Exactly my thoughts too, I'm not sure whether it's just my twitter feed but I'm seeing a lot of fans really giving Rosenior ****, just looking at the Hull fan's reactions and other fans' reactions to his sacking shows me he is a good coach.
It’s all good making ‘mega money’ but would those players we lose be replaced properly? I’m very sceptical after the **** show of the last 3 transfer windows.
Jansen will be the clubs first choice now, if we can’t agree terms then Rosenior will be the back up option.
He was nominated for manager of the yr as well, no idea why hes getting so much stick I think he would be a cracking appointment, he is also a manager that has room to grow with us Like @SourPatch2 said he knows how to control a game, last season they lacked tempo but the yr before he had that so he knows how to set his teams up
we haven't had the money to really go for a lot of quality this really is the first proper test of "the model"
The only thing im clutching at, is prior to last summers window, our transfer activity in summer windows has been really good since KLD and KS have come in
Rosenior is a very good candidate but I think we have some fans who believe we should be able to attract someone like Mourinho. We need to be realistic which is why we are looking in the Dutch and French leagues etc for highly rated managers before they are snapped up, the Championship is probably of an equal standard at least overall to their top leagues other than a few teams.
