June 24th is the nigh on the end of june also surely you'd want the head coach to you know plan pre-season before it starts?
That’s too late for me with the players due back before the end of the month. If it’s a manager from overseas they will need time to settle their affairs also and we don’t want any distractions when preseason kicks off.
I’ve been involved in senior management for many years… if ANY company CEO I’ve ever been involved with in the past 40 years left a crucial role such as this infilled for the company/corporation for this length of time then he/she would have share holders demanding answers. I simply don’t see because this is a football team why is it different. After such a long time not only is the pressure on, but, if the position isn’t nailed by the successful candidate then the s hit will hit the fan in a big way
You can't appoint a head coach and his first day be on the pitch really. They need time to plan, have discsiions with players/DoF's about transfers etc. The whole point of waiting to appoint someone until now was to give them a full re-season
What work, and how long does each bit of work take? What bits can only be done by a new Head Coach and not existing staff? Explain for 20 marks
Not ideal I agree, but what's the point of all our fans getting themselves worked up... its out of our control... Let's just chill and relax Keep the faith
It's the planning for training sessions that is the most important. The coach needs to be able to get their ideas and instructions across to the squad and then possibly more importantly is the individual development plans that need to be formed. They can't do that if they haven't been able to analyse last seasons games properly which takes time. They need to move and then get settled into the area, as do the coaches they bring which takes time. You mention why can't the coaches who are remaining do this. Because we as a club don't have a set style of play so the incoming coach pretty much has to set that, no point coaching for a certain style if the incoming head coach then changes it. Then the fact that Dodds and Proctor could be leaving the club. @FellTop would be able to explain better than me. I can only explain from my positions as a scout and data analyst.
I am, I said 2/3 weeks at the latet, 1st July is just too late, but agree we don't need to panic, yet...
Your version of the truth. Your unsupported supposition attempting to create alarm that doesn't exist.
You can argue all you want but this isnt ideal by any stretch of the imagination. Just think prospective players or coaches looking at this from the outside. They wouldn't know the details of the delay in appointing either, but their impression of it all won't be good. Why deal with SAFC when it takes this long because they are playing hard ball. Like I say perception plays a large part. I'm not sure why posters are getting grief because of it.
