Agreed, Farage has had a massive impact on this country.

Disagree that Farage is a facist.

Do you guys actually know what the word means? It’s like the mainstream media has told you “Farage is a scary evil facist” that you actually believe it. I find it really funny

I agree that the word doesn’t fit him. Whether he aspires to that is impossible to know - I expect not though. The only part of the definition he truly aligns with is “ultra nationalism”. It seems a lot of people use fascist to mean “nationalist I don’t like”. Which is incorrect

A separate question is whether simply believing what the mainstream media says (even though I don’t think any mainstream outlets label him as a fascist) is better or worse than believing loads of nonsense and conspiracy theories shared by non “mainstream sources” (which also include some mainstream sources like Fox News and The Express for some reason). Or is it the same?

Spot on. “Far-right” and “facist” labels have lost all meaning now.

The liberal-globalist media tar anyone that questions their agenda as one or both of these things in order to discredit them.

The liberal-globalist media that has relentlessly pushed right wing narratives so hard for so long, the far right have now become mainstream throughout Europe and America? Yeah, okay mate.

And the liberal-globalist media entity of the BBC that has given Farage and UKIP a massive over representation on their political programming for a decade. That media?

    The right is heavily underrepresented.

Almost every election and referendum proves that the media is out of touch with the electorate.

Notice I didn’t say “the right”. I said UKIP and Farage.
You are wrong regardless - but you changed what I said and then disagreed with it.

That said - I know you won’t be convinced you are wrong and there is no evidence that can be presented to change your mind.

Election debate is shambolic. Sunak speaking over everyone and Starmer like a rabbit in headlights, who has let Sunak say that Labour will put taxes up countless number of times without response.
They need to turn Sunak’s microphone off when his time is up, because he is being allowed to take control.

I can agree with most of your third statement so no issue there apart from the "opened borders." Loss of freedom of movement is a loss of freedom to move within the Brexit that Fat Frost negotiated. . As for your first statement, Rory Stewart would agree there as he maintains that all Bunter was interested in was to get power. At the time he became PM, all in the Tory party knew he would make an awful PM. As for the Brext that was negotiated ...enough has been said. Enjoy your night and a glass of wine!!

These formats don't work. You can't cram all of these topics into 60 mins (minus ad breaks) and give people 30-45 seconds to explain their entire policy approach to complex issues. Then you have Sunak shrieking constantly and Etchingham losing control to add to it.

I doubt either of them are swaying anyone but I think Sunak is likely turning people off again.

Os is a champion WUM!!! He is like Farage. He may or may not believe what he says, but what he says gets a reaction. If he was to write MOR stuff nobody would react!

Right-of-center parties have only combined to take 50%+ of the popular vote in the UK once in modern history: in 2015, when they took less than 51%. If anything, the right has been consistently and vastly overrepresented in Parliament.

    She has totally lost control.
She has allowed Sunak to speak relentlessly and has just had a pop at Starmer about sticking to 45 seconds.

Didn’t watch the debate, but just reading through reactions it sounds like it was a good night to be Ed Davey, Nigel Farage and John Swinney.

Also apparently ITV did a **** job of presenting, quelle suprise.

Couple years ago, Os made a big deal of the drag performer who exposed themselves to a crowd of children. Problem was that it was a complete fraud: the source of that story simply faked images, then tried to get the performer arrested on the basis of those faked images. Now, a jury in Idaho has awarded more than $1m to the performer who sued the source of that fraud.

    https://cdapress.com/news/2024/may/24/jury-awards-11-million-in-damages-to-drag-performer/

Idaho is one of the most conservative states in the US. You have to really lean into defaming someone in order to convince an Idaho jury to give a million dollars to a drag performer, but she managed it.

Os is often asking for apologies, he more often than not owes one.

What is a facist? As for a WUM, it applies to anyone who may not follow the conventional line. So as you seem to disagree with a lot of contributors here, you are either serious with your views or just as likely a WUM, as your replies are designed to get a reaction. For all I know you might live in Northern Ireland and vote Sinn Fein. Congratulations though, and keep up the sterling work.
