I think he’s a 10 personally. I don’t believe he gets in our best side currently either, I’d prefer Rigg all day long.
Cardiff game springs to mind, movement for his goal was brilliant, brought out the best in Aouchiche having some decent striker movement
He played in so many positions last season that he's like one of those magic eye pictures in the 90s. Couple that with our desperate need for a striker and wishful thinking does the rest.
His movement, constantly making runs off the shoulder and in and around the box, the way he can hold the ball up and his in the box movement is quite bang on for a number 9. It comes natural to him. Just needs to improve his finishing.
Jobe's played as a 9 in age group football, for Birmingham and England, so it's not like it's an idea that's come from nowhere.
"Then my former teammate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, from Borussia Dortmund. And finally, my brother Jobe, a thoroughbred striker like our father." Jude when asked who will win the golden boy award over the next few years
Don’t think that’s the type of appointment fans will get behind nor will it seems ambitious enough for the players to stay who have other options imo
It's his hold up play for me, goes down too easy and never wins a free kick, it probably doesn't help convince the ref when he's bigger than most of the CBs he's up against. Should be easy enough to coach and he'd be well on his way.
That's a good summary of his skills. Two things he definitely has to work on is his pace and staying on his feet.
Was just about to say, his hold up play is poor, goes down far too much and gets robbed far too easily. That can be improved of course. The main worry for me is his general slowness. Seen milk turn quicker in all honesty.
A bloke who has managed at Colwyn Bay, AFC Fylde, Hartlepool and Stockport. He’s got a good record everywhere he’s been but the Sunderland job is completely different.
Played some cracking football at Stockport when I see them a few times last season. But like you say, too much of a risk I suppose. Although tbh, I'd be less inspired by Heckinbottom.
I like the lad and he's certainly a talent. When I'm watching him,it seems he needs a bit more time than he's got.
