If we are just weeks away from the start of a tournament then why are we giving 3 so far players their debut? Surely we should know the team and now is the time for them to play together and work on moves and set play stuff.

Not sure many added to their stock there tbh, Grealish did well when he came on, and Alexander-Arnold looked good in spells, but very bitty and pedestrian til the changes happened.
He's got to drop 7 of them on Friday evening as he needs to cut down to a 26 man squad makes sense to me to give them a run out and play for their place (in theory). The first eleven isn't his problem i suspect it's the other half of the squad. 3-0 was flattering in the end but we go again against Iceland on Friday!

It’s easy to criticise the tempo in a game like that, but against a team that just parked the bus, we broke them down quite well in the 2nd half and I actually thought a few players did themselves some favours. If that game was 10 years ago we would have lost it, especially in a tournament. Bowen had a mixed game, poor passes in first half but with some better finishing from others, he could have had a couple of assists and a goal (if his shot hadn’t been blocked but his own player). He was involved in a lot of our best moves. Eze did well. Palmer showed how he can fit into the team and I don’t think anyone had a shocker. Not sure it gives Southgate much help sliming things down though. Fridays team selection should give us a good indication though. this has to be our best squad by a mile in regards to depth in recent times though. Best opportunity to win a tournament.
