Agree with this. If he does well with us he'll be gone in a shot. You can just tell. Should he be appointed I can't see him lasting 18 months. He'll either be sacked as we continue in mid table, or leave for better things should he finish higher.
The one thing it gives me hope of is that the club will give him a bit more control because of these negotiations. Nowt crazy, we don't want him having full power like it's 1993, but enough input to stop him falling out with those above him.
New sporting director at Lens said: "JO: "There will be a reduction in the wage bill. It does not go down at the same speed as our revenues. We didn't put what I would have liked us to be able to put aside. We don't have the third CVC payment, a lot of uncertainty about TV rights. We'll see if we make some good sales of players. It may not be as profitable as last year."
Agent trying to impress their new client may well be the reason he didn't sign last week. As the dust settles we may well get our man. Hope hes worth it
Oh 1 million per cent I have been clear I'd prefer Maric but Still would "still" be the most exciting manager appointment since Keane, IMO. He is 100% what the fanbase needs to galvanise behind. That's why I'd be super pleased if it happens, even if he's not my choice.
I'm telling myself that everyone does it to get a better deal for themselves and it's just unfortunate this leaked to the media
There's normally two sides to every story. People will create scenarios mainly to suit their agenda. If he does come then the club want him and he wants to be here. Dont suspect we will ever get the full story.
I think there's two factors here - 1. Yes I expect he'll be off if he gets an offer that improves his career. 2. To get that offer requires being successful with whoever he goes to next. He's still very young and inexperienced and needs to do a good job at a new club before bigger clubs will seriously consider him. If that's us, I don't blame him for playing the game to ensure that he gets every chance at succeeding here.
Understand your point but this is a discussion forum. Would be a bit dull if we ignored the stories and all just waited for official news.
I’m getting an Alex Neil vibe from him, which I’m not sure is a bad thing cos I loved Neil here, but yeah could see his head being turned easily if he does well here, guess that’s just the nature of football these days though
As long as its short and sweet in a positive rollercoaster sort of way rather than in a "recent manager who I won't name" sort of way
Apologies if I misunderstood the theme of your post. Thought you were suggesting we shouldn't comment on stories from journalists.
