I don't know why you bother, mate! Join the vast majority, there is nothing wrong with it, and just wait for an official announcement. No need for the angst.
Good shout, if it is Maric I’m hoping an experience assistant comes in with him, tough first gig on your own
Me too. His pick of course. I did speculate much earlier in the thread that it could be someone like Toshack as they'll know eachother from the Leeds stint. Pure speculation though, they may have hated eachother!
Sometimes think the younger head coaches actually need other young heads with them. Don’t want any doubt over who the boss is. obviously should be up to Maric tho
What's keeping my hopes up about Maric is the text message or social media conversation screenshot that was posted on here or otr a few weeks ago, someone contacted Maric and asked him directly if he was joining us and he replied it was looking unlikely, this was just after Still had left Reims and Maric sounded really disappointed, then at the end of the conversation he was asked if he would come and he said if he was asked by the club he would say yes, so perhaps I'm clutching at straws again but it didn't sound as though he'd been put off by us moving for Still. Fingers crossed...
Wouldn’t be against Struber mind. Worked with a young team at Salzburg and only lost 3 times and won 20 in the season he left them earlier this year.
Been watching and tracking this post like everyone else for quite some time. It seems at the moment this post will also continue along the same lines for a while more. Going back to last November I was in the keep Mogga camp because I thought he had done a good job for us and mainly we just needed stability. I see comments at the time and since that was there was a run of 6 to 8 games where we weren't at our best however if memory serves me correctly we still only 3 points of a play off place. Having a young inexperienced team with no striker may be some reason for the off the boil time but all water under a bridge now. To me with losing an experienced head coach highlighted the issue of conflicts of interest between the role of head coach and DOF role. Head coach is all about results now....quote the 6 to 8 game scenario.....some fans wanting him out. The DOF role is more longer term in where bringing in youngers kids and then sell at a profit down the road such as Clarke. A year ago the DOF authorized young kids to be brought to the club which in reality came back to bite Mogga up the ass and no doubt created a big conflict between them. I felt rightly or wrongly the KLD should have got them both in a room and knocked their heads together and said no one is leaving....both of you sort your sh*t out in the interests of the club....maybe a bit inexperience with KLD but this is just my presumption. My son in law and grandson are season ticket holders at Aston Villa who have just had a great season. I was asking my son in law the background to this 'hell of a season' and he said when Emery was appointed 'head coach' the whole focus of the club was to support him from the owners, DOF, tea ladies....what Emery wanted Emery got. The reason for bringing this up is whoever we get in we should supply with the same support....no conflicts of interest due to the model/plan should get in the way. Total commitment to the guy in the role we bring in....if we can't do that then we shouldn't appoint him. From what I can see it hasn't worked out with Will Still....he didn't really float my boat neither did potentially would Maric. I'm sure they are names on the potential list that are more suited....with what we need to get out of this league. Hopefully we get someone in soon as it is starting to look as though as a club we haven't got our sh*t together. Got a feeling though the Mogga/DOF carry on has left potential recruits very wary of coming into a club and find themself with no striker up front....and their balls on the line.
