2F out you were wondering how far Ambiente Friendly would win. What can you say about City Of Troy? Won fair and square and looks the real deal once again - Newmarket maybe just showing they are not machines?
Was a good winner wasn't he. Time probably will prove it to be another poor Derby but the winner was miles better than the field.
Won at 9/2 SP. Fine ride by lady jockey Tabitha Worsley for the Alastair Ralph yard, and all connected with the winner. (Eases the pain just a bit on the very disappointing run by my Derby pick. Ancient Wisdom really did run a poor race. One just cannot ignore any runner from the Aidan O'Brien enterprise. City Of Troy won going away! A master trainer on the Flat)
I don't feel so bloody 'mighty' at the moment with that Derby selection, Oddy! What one earth is this horse's correct distance. Seems he now has a complete lack of a turn-of-foot. The Appleby yard has a right old problem on their hands with this otherwise very well-bred racehorse? Watch the stable's website for further developments, I guess?
It will be interesting to see how good Voyage is with a jockey on his back. Next outing: Friday, 21 June 2024 - 5:40 (Early closer) at Ascot King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) (1m4f)
Fair play, Swanny. I am a pedant myself. I read it back before I posted and never noticed that I had put the wrong name. As I expected it never featured.
My opinion after Newmarket was that he was yet another Justify that had not trained on. Clearly I was proven wrong. If Ballydoyle were so super confident why did they have two other runners that could not possibly win? If they drop back to ten furlongs and take on Economics I won’t be on the Derby winner. Listen, it does not look like the best horse that O’Blarney has ever had but he is the master of hype.
