If its what KLD wants then I think I'd start to have doubts with his strategy despite thinking he is the right man to take us forward and being mainly really happy with what he has put in place since taking over. Undeniable the progress we've made in a relatively short period under him. If we end up getting rid of Speakman, it feels like a **** time to change the head of the football side at the start of a transfer window and preseason starting in a few weeks. How long would it take to replace him? A lot of upheaval at an important period for the club. Should he have just gone once the season finished?

Not at all, but don't believe endless rumours and gossip. It changes everyday, its going to be still then it's not.
hopefully the club have known this for a couple of days and been able to move to plan B. If they haven’t moved to plan B yet it might be too late to convince them.

I think this makes a lot of sense mate but my worry is that we've been in talks for some time, with these snagging issues and the delay has resulted in other clubs (Lens) having a position available and then taking our first choice away after chasing him for months. I do agree with you re Still though, it's more about the club not getting what they wanted done that would disappoint me.
