Although not sure why they are allowing those in blocks 11 and 12 to move as they are not directly impacted by the new Kids Zone.....
But will they? My direct debit installments have gone up from £36 a month to £50 a month. Without the monthly payment plan option then yes, people will be priced out but an extra £14 a month isn't much at all. And if that makes a significant difference then you shouldn't be buying a ST at all quite frankly.
Well as long as you're alright eh Jack. Hardly inconceivable that £50 could be somebody's limit for leisure activities.
I'll take it over having to pay postage fees for tickets, keep checking the post for whether the tickets have even arrived, phoning the ticket office when the tickets haven't turned up in time for the game, having to remember to bring the season card, losing the season card somewhere and then having to queue up at the ticket office and pay again to have a new one created.
I'm sorry, but if you're buying a ST you should be able to amend your budgets with the price rises without any concern with the payment plan. You know in advance what it will cost per month so plan ahead. I really don't have any sympathy with people who buy luxuries that they can't afford and then get into trouble. Saints have made it as easy as possible for fans to be able to afford a ST. My living costs have gone up same as everyone else but good budgeting and cutting out some unnecessary expenditures means I won't particularly notice the £50 going out of my account each month. I made the decision to cut down on the number of away games I went to this season - partly because of the distance to travel for a lot of the games but also the cost. I appreciate that I'm a better position than many people but if the ST prices are too steep to be able to afford this season, then why not buy a membership and pick the games you really want to go to?
Not impressed with your last sentence. I guess you've never heard the saying the straw that breaks the camels back then.
The club never charged for postage fees (Wembley aside). Forgetting or losing your ticket or card is probably your own fault and you'd deserve to be charged, as is ordering a ticket too close to the game to worry about it not turning up in time. For me, having a physical ticket is all part of the experience and day out. Digital tickets are just hollow and lack that, for want of a better word, souvenir-ness of your day. And that's not just football related, it's the way of the modern life.
I see the advantages of digital ticketing but it's not for me personally. Like you I prefer having a physical ticket as a souvenir. I'm also terrible with phones and lose/break 2-3 a year. I think it'd be better to have a choice but it's the way the world is going sadly. Similar to businesses who won't accept cash.
I think it's a fair point - if someone's finances are really that tight then I really would question the decision to buy a ST in the first place.
Well your last sentence kind of makes my point? If people are priced out then yes they can buy a membership and pick and choose. You initially said people won't be priced out but then seem to acknowledge that some will be.
Hard to judge different people's priorities though surely? Everyone places football at a differing level. Some people would happily spend most of their disposable income on Saints whereas many people wouldn't (myself included) because they want to do other leisure activities.
Some will but I don't think it will be that many TBH. You said lots in your post and I don't think that will be the case. That was what I was disputing.
