I think Dodds and Proctor deserve thanks and respect, more than they get online, for doing their best. It’s also inevitable that their manager will be thankful to them and ultimately that sense of shame and responsibility for their challenges will cloud his judgement. He also has a history with Dodds. The board should have counterbalances for this and he should not be involved to make business not personal decision over what next. Not sating 100% this a reason why we struggle to get coaches mind. I suspect our budget is unrealistic and those coming will want to know we stop signing players who aren’t ready so it doesn’t reflect on them. Any agent or coach worth their position will be asking ‘what’s changed for next year’.
Thanks and respect? for what? were you watching how they had us playing? They were paid to do a job that they failed miserably in
I thought that to start with, but he was directly responding to a KLD post, so I think he probably got his wires crossed.
Paid to do a different job to the one asked of them on a temporary basis is more fair. Results and performances were poor so understandably people aren’t rushing to thank them but they agreed to step in to difficult circumstances and deserve some respect for that.
It also needs to be remembered that they are very well respected in their original roles, Dodds particularly.
I doubt if they were paid any more for stepping up, so I’m very happy for them to go back to their previous jobs.
Loads of clubs are heading down this route and managers/coaches need to adapt to it. I'm all for it after going through the silly spending under Quinn and Short while getting nowhere.
The squad were already finished mentally when Beale went , maybe even from Mowbray leaving so its difficult to judge Dodds really.
Dont even look at the performances under him on the pitch. Have a look at the absolute turd he was spurting in his press conferences
Must admit getting slightly worried now. Feels like we're going to end up with someone like Heckinbottom. Obviously pure guesswork but can't help feeling that this stipulation for a new man coming in has to involve Dodds still being here rumour isn't far from the truth, thus hindering us bringing in somebody exciting and new.
My point remains m8, until that happens en masse he’ll not change tack, and as an example I don’t know of many other than some on here and more on rtg, who are actually not renewing their subscription to this business, so whatever he’s doing isn’t driving his customers away in their droves imho.
Looks like I made the right decision to have an early night and miss all of this ****e. OK so I fell asleep on the couch after a rather nice bottle of Malbec but the principle holds. I think it's fair to say that despite the best intentions of members of this board to keep us up to date no one has the definitive account of what is going on. There will be perhaps 3 people at the club who do, and they are not going to tell anyone. Whilst it is quite amusing to see certain posters trying to wind us up it does become somewhat tiresome after a while. Strangely enough I do think that we will know quite shortly who will be our new head coach, no pun intended, and I am quite happy to wait and see. Have a good day everyone and remember, play nice.
This is my point, as a business owner myself, if my company ran like our club then I’d of been done years ago. I get the spending millions on upgrading the stadium as it really needs it, but the whole debacle about the manager or lack there of, if it is true that they have to be Speakmans puppet then it’s clear as day why it’s taking so long. the one thing you can’t do is alienate your main source of steady income from the fans, it’s ludicrous and very naive from KLD (if true) there have been a lot of mistakes made on his short time here and only time will tell whether he will be successful or not, I don’t think it’s helped that the Saudi’s took over the mags and a lot of our fan base compare us to that. It will definitely be an interesting appointment whoever it is, but get this one wrong and I think you will see a mass exodus of fans, as it’s on very thin ice with the lack of communication from the club and the farce since getting rid of Mowbray.
