I put a lot of faith into fans/other posters and the snippets they hear but I’d probably guess it’s due to the fact that the last few things which point away from it being Still have come from l’equipe and Romano
Not really true. He took charge at Basel and they won the league 8 days later. He finished 2nd the next season and was sacked.
May as just put everyone out of our misery and appointment someone **** like roseneior or Heckingbottom
L'Equipe don't really report things unless they’re certain and Lens wouldn’t be making a move/ targeting for Still (and letting it be known) if he was about to be unveiled at another club (his agent would have been sounded out as a starting point). I’m struggling to see this any other way.
Lens rushes to Still?!?! Does this mean they're making a quick attempt to get him before he goes somewhere else? Or lost in translation? Also with him literally just changing agents surely he's looking for an English role?
I didn't say we were. Your post was that everyone seems stressed now it's just some but we don't know who. Supporters of a club without a manager wants us to appoint a manager and are saying so on a chat forum ... ... it doesn't mean anyone's stressed or having to take time off work.
Even before that we were crap. The Short years were uniformly tedious. With the occasional blessed relief of the derby wins, some miraculous escapes, and a run in the League Cup. We had two decent seasons under Keane. Despite his popularity, the McCarthy years were pretty bleak, particularly after promotion. Prior to that was Wilkinson, which capped two crap years under Reid. The two decent Premier League years that we had with him are the highlight of the last 50 years. Before him it was Buxton and Butcher . Crosby's time looks ok because of the FA Cup Final. Then there was the brief highlight of a couple of promotions under Smith and the Gabbiadini years, but that wasn't all plain sailing. And prior to that you're looking at the McMenemy debacle. I definitely prefer things now.
Yeah, I can see it. SAFC announce they wanted to appoint Still on Friday but realised it would be too long for fans to wait, so are appointing Heckingbottom tomorrow instead.
