Scales on Sterling was a free kick but as the ref took no action / didn’t see a foul , and it wasn’t in the box , then VAR couldn’t intervene.

 

The point is it happened right in front of the referee. Everybody who has seen it sees a clear and obvious foul. How does a trained referee not see it?

Could it be he chose to ignore it?

Just like Collum chose to ignore Alistair Johnson punching the ball out of the park?

That's not just bad refereeing. That's cheating.

And will they still pretend there's a pattern of assistance with a team that has won 22 trophies in 12 years versus a club who have won 3?

The last two OF games that O'Walsh has reffed, Rangers have had 2 players taken off injured from a challenge by a Celtic defender, and neither Johnston, nor Vickers were sent off, booked or a foul awarded in Rangers favour.

We moan about injuries but what can we do when refs are letting our players be subjected to assaults on the pitch?

 

I don’t believe Scottish referees are cheating . They are totally incompetent.

Scottish referees miss loads week in week out . I’ve watched local team referees putting in better performances.

Part time employees referring full time professionals . Tinpot .

Being trained on VAR for a few months then implementing mid season - amateurish.

The Johnson one was explained was it not ?

 

They monitor all play ie they watch the whole game and would have seen that it want in box . As it wasn’t in box , they didn’t flag for a clear / obvious error .

There was a few incidents where the comms team didn’t reference whether or not VAR was checking . They don’t always say- be impossible .

That’s the problem with VAR , it’s used haphazardly. They need to set out clear useage rules and make it crystal clear what and when they actually speak to a referee to review .

Scottish football needs full time referees that are held accountable and have performance monitored and reviewed (that affects their pay).

They , including VAR, should also be required to summarise decisions after a game .

 

This just looks like sour grapes when you are reminded Celtic were denied 2 stonewall penalties on Saturday

 

Morelos goal vs Celtic at Parkpaed - players jostling in the box, Johnston not even looking at the ball, loses the physical battle (no wonder) and Morelos scores. Clancy waits 2-3 seconds whilst looking at Johnston, who reacts theatrically, and Clancy awards a foul. Walsh on VAR advises the ref that there is no clear and obvious error so onfield decision remains NO GOAL.

Roofe goal vs Celtic at Ibrox - Lagerbielke is dilly dallying on the ball and is caught in possession by Dessers, play continues and the ball is squared to Roofe who scores. C McGregor lambasts the Celtic defender as Ibrox erupts. The VAR asks O'Robertson to look at the turnover of possession as a foul may have occurred, O'Robertson adjudges that the CFC player was in the kicking motion and penalises Dessers for a foul. Nothing here about "clear and obvious", it was not clear that Lagerbielke was kicking the ball, and it certainly wasn't obvious to anyone watching the game. NO GOAL

Dessers goal vs Celtic at Ibrox - Lawrence challenges for the ball mid-way in the Rangers half and Cheating Beaton doesn't adjudge the foul, Rangers break up field and score a full 18 seconds later. VAR asks Beaton to have a look and despite the theatrical dive by Japanese MVP, and a full 18 seconds of play unfurling afterwards, the foul is awarded to Celtic, despite the rules stating "The starting point will be limited to the immediate phase. The VAR may not go back to when the attacking team gained possession." From gaining possession, 5 Rangers players touched the ball, and 3 Celtic players until Dessers scored. NO GOAL

Sima goal vs Celtic at Hamdpen - Corners taken, various 'holding' going on, Turncoat Taylor is grappling with Raskin whilst not looking at the ball, Raskin breaks free and puts hands on Hart. Hart was never getting the ball but claims the foul. O'Walsh is asked to go to monitor and sees a foul, but doesn't look at the fact that Hart wasn't getting to the ball, and that Raskin was getting fouled immediately before the 'push'. NO GOAL

The ****test of them all, Fr Collum should have been sin died from football in this country after his 2022 SCF performance in the Rangers v Hearts game, where he was utterly atrocious for both teams.

Instead of demotion and given his jotters, he's been rewarded by getting the top gig in Jockshire.

The side that went 2 years without giving away a penalty despite committing numerous fouls in their own box, think there's a fix in

 

Collum looked at the Johnstone incident and said no handball, and the ref was to stick to his original decisions of goal kick.

We were subsequently told halfway through the second half that it wasn't a penalty as it was offside.

That being the case, then the goal kick wouldn't be awarded and there would, instead, be a free-kick where the offside occurred.

This is Rangers "Dougie Dougie" moment where Collum has royally ****ed up and the refereeing establishment have went into overdirve to cover it up.
