I said on OTIB I wasn’t really bothered either way, but if pushed I would want Southampton to win, because I’ve met a few arrogant and self entitled Leeds fans (not all I hasten to add), but the few Saints fans I’ve met have all been very pleasant. Plus it went against all the pundits and bookies.
I live in Hampshire but do prefer Portsmouth as a team most annoying chant is oh when the saints go marching in.
I was surprised how Southampton played against Leeds and so different to how they played us at AG. Within the first few minutes they launched 40yard balls from defence, something they didn't do once at AG. However time again they mixed it up with controlled possession. A definite plan whereas Leeds looked disjointed with 1 or 2 outstanding and gifted individuals. Southampton are a 'cute' side, no surprise they're high up in the 'bookings' league.....over a 100 cautions this season thus stopping breakaways or when the opposition starts to dominate. I don't like it but it's the 'game' these days. That said, I thought Flynn Downes was outstanding. Southampton will ONLY receive £125million, poor devil's, it's because of the umpteen millions they received from relegation last season ! Expect they will struggle next year in the Prem and we'll have to play them again the year after. The Championship fair ? My backside.
there is a hic cup! that is premier league debts? so doesnt it mean in the championship they are in a different boat? or is that debts that have accrued whilst in the championship!
Pretty sure there were similar reports about Leicester this time last year. None of it came to anything, so far….. and they still did ok this season!
