Just realised Troyes have been relegated to the French third tier. That’s back-to-back relegations for them. Great example of why multi-club ownership is **** and the ‘lesser’ clubs in the agreement get ****ed over and treat like means to an end.
https://x.com/eurofootcom/status/1794794193526948164?s=46 I think they take their football a bit more seriously there lol
Yep 2nd in the league by 3 points and that's the reaction. And people were surprised when our Turkish owner sacked LR when he finished 7th
Oh come on. Missing out on play offs was part of the reason, but how many times does it need to be said that at least, if not more, important was: - the mostly boring football, especially at home - Rosenior's decision that he didn't want to change from his philosophy - his broken promise of bringing exciting attacking football (that's what he promised early on, it never happened except in too rare glimpses) - only 8 wins at home all season - only 2 wins out of the last 11 at home. Yes, really! That is utterly shocking. Add to that only winning 3 of the last 13, etc. Is there really any wonder Acun lost patience during the 2nd half of the season? A very rational decision, unlike posters disrespectfully choosing to make comparisons to an unhinged Fenerbache fan with a knife.
Yes that too, certainly, but having no idea how Fenerbahce play I can't make any comparison on that front. I support Acun and his decision, and as I said at the time, football is totally different on the continent, and no one would have batted an eyelid at Acun's decision over there.
Yet Acun stated if Liam got us promoted he wouldn't have got the sack so it was about position not style. But this has been discussed a thousand times already
It's all about expectations, in the play off places in January when the other team's up there were faltering, Acun pushed the boat out and brought in some more quality and depth. We got worse particularly at home where Acun had again done his bit by getting the stadium full of expectant fans. Absolutely no surprise that he was dissapointed come season end and binned Liam.
He simply said that had he got us promoted, he would have earned the opportunity of the new season. Few could argue with that. He didn't though, so that's the end of that. And then there's the several reasons for the sacking that he explained very clearly. Too clearly for some apparently, although he tried hard not to diss Rosenior in spite of those pretty alarming stats. All very clear, logical, understandable to my mind. Anyway, it's done. Onward and upward. I only replied because someone else brought it up in a way that could be read as comparing Acun's mentality to that of a loon Fenerbache supported (although I can see that was only one interpretation of the o.p.).
