I can’t see that myself, I’m sure they are decent coaches (not head) but if the new head coach wants his own people in then that’s how it should be. KLD is from a business family and I’m certain he knows you have to be ruthless sometimes for the greater good.
Difficult what to do with Dodds. Clearly well thought of my players and club and stick his neck out but clearly not ready to be making decisions about approaches. Deserves respect but we have to back a new head coach.
Like what? We have courted this bloke properly for 2 month and ge knew the offer we gave him, he then ****s off to see Dhelia and her cakes. Well pardon me, if we are not a better proposition than Norwich he can do one.
There's always the possibility that the new manager is unable to bring all of his preferred staff to England. People have families, friends, schools, doctors, etc, to consider. It may well be he's been in discussions with Dodds and Proctor after which he's happy to have them on his team. From a practical point of view they don't have to move to the NE, already know the players and have club jackets with their initials on which will save a fair amount of money ... ... every little helps.
Sorry, I meant in terms of the club offering them academy roles or letting them move on. I didn’t mean they were deciding between them and Still.
Take off the Sunderland sunglasses and the potential we know we have and I’d say to the wider world we’re on a par.
As you know Bob, that's football. Kieran McKenna has apparently spoken to both Chelsea and Man Utd while still being employed by Ipswich ... ... it's hard to say which club will be most insulted if he decides against them.
pick a penny up every day in a few months you have a few months worth of pennies I think you’re right though. I’m not one for wholesale change, it just unsettles things. A bit of both works best in my experience a refresh but not a bloody revolution. Sunderland have too many blood hungry fans.
Correct, but once TM had critiqued the system he was finished, only 1 ****e player was his input, he could not play the players we needed because of speakmans plan. BTW Tony does not regret 1 part of how it played out. Even going to Brum.
TBF mate, I am not surprised though. I would be more concerned if he was happy to just come in and work under the previous structure, model and lack of flex without compromise.
It's a shame we all can't do a phone call, and put the club right. 1st job get rid of KS. His system don't work
He was well aware of the situation before he signed his well paid contract ... ... I have no problem with managers criticising the club to the club, I don't like it when they moan at every press conference. That only ever ends one way and that's with the payoff they're pushing the club into, Bruce was a master at it.
Why would someone anyone not talk to every potential employer when looking for a new job? I had a job offer that I had accepted and their time doe me to start was 3 months. So in that time I was still interviewing with other companies and when one offered a better package I rang the other and said I'd changed my mind.
I don't know many people he hasn't blocked ... ... his mam is on that list for asking what time he'd be home for his tea
That's a good point. Could be some interesting negotiations ongoing. Perhaps Still thinks something about himself and that he is worth some respect or at least input on the set up. All pure speculation of course.
