I have not seen any championship side sign any player of note so far On the other had the manager situation at quite a few clubs are not even resolved yet, those clubs are not in panic mode because there is plenty of time before the season starts...
Until the 1st June only players released by clubs can be signed. Transfers start 1st June. Many deals will have been arranged but cannot be completed until then.
Bluey - the Prem/EFL transfer window actually opens on Friday 14th June this year, the same day as the Euro's start in Germany, but you are correct, clubs are active in the market right now. Signings can be made outside a transfer window, but a player will not be able to be registered to play for their new side until the window opens. Not having a manager in place and having to deal with officials who will not actually pick the team fosters uncertainty with players. It inhibits progress on prospective signings that could be got over the line long before the window opens.
That's the crux of it. A player with two offers on the table, financially equal, one has a manager selling a vision and describing how the player fits in, the other saying to come and join us, it'll be great. Where would you go? On the flip side, you'll get mercenary players who don't care about the vision as long as they get their wedge. Players you possibly don't want at your club as they aren't interested in the football. It's a lose, lose situation.
The way Bulut has treated players like Ugbo and Panzo kept out of the side and his constant blaming named players like Tanner, Colwill and Robinson hardly inspires any player does it?
We've signed a few of those mercenaries when in a panic at the end of windows. We could be going down the same road again if things don't get sorted soon.
Some fans are not interested in the football considering what Bulut served up, a lot of premier loans we got were wanted by other clubs but they came here. Also we attracted Bellamy and Ramsey so despite other clubs would love to get them it was Cardiff where they wanted to play. Only 2 teams get auto promotion each season and any club that has done it twice is far superior to the also rans.
Fulham have been promoted twice and are still up there unlike us. West Brom and Norwich have also been promoted twice in the same time frame as us and came back down twice but both are far superior footballing sides than us right now. So what's your point?
Bellamy & Ramsey came here with little persuasion or interest from other clubs for obvious local reasons.
Laughable how the panic for a manager was even before the season was over any yet today premier clubs are still deciding and only a few sorted theirs a few days ago. Same for players released, there is no good players there.
Bulut has a contract offer but it is he who is stalling and causing uncertainty, if he had any faith that he could do well next season one year should be fine unless 3years means he can get a big compensation package even if he gets us relegated. Moan at Bulut as he is the only one delaying things.
What are you talking about? It would appear Bulut has an offer to manage Cardiff City FC, the terms (duration) of which he's not happy about. Irrespective of whether you believe he's the right guy for the job, he's perfectly entitled to negotiate better terms. It's up to Mr. Tan to bring this matter to a conclusion not Bulut.
Usual contract negotiation. Tan makes an offer, Erol counters, then either a further offer is made or the original offer reiterated as a 'take it or leave it', or withdrawn. Been there myself in my career. Erol says he wants to build something, but can't do it in a year. Either Tan trusts him to do it, or he doesn't. Erol's request, as we see it, doesn't seem unreasonable. The issue Tan has is there's nothing tying Erol to us, so could just walk away, leaving us managerless. Naive negotiating by Vincent. Unless he has other irons in the fire. It's a risky business. Erol is Dalman's man. We owe Dalman money. The last thing Tan wants is Dalman walking away A $h!t storm is brewing.
