Nothing really. If he were to be sacked, he'd expect the balance of his contract to be paid to him. I wonder what he'd say if he resigned and the club asked him to pay them the balance of his contract?
Not at all - during the 2020 leadership election campaign he created a list of ten pledges that he swore to keep if he was elected, and posted it on his website. If you were to go looking for it now you wouldn't find it as it's been removed, probably because he hasn't kept any of them. Most party leaders find it difficult to keep all their promises but do manage to keep some. Keeping none at all is unforgivable - or a sign that he just can't be trusted.
I think that if our football threads become over influenced by comments about political matters, then a new thread will need to be created. There are pitfalls if people don't use one respectfully, but that is unlikely with people on here who can be interested to find out what others think.
England U17 won their first Group match in the Euros, beating France 4-0. They face Portugal tomorrow and Spain on Monday. Tough Group. Wales lost to Denmark 1-0 and are playing Austria as I type, 0-0 at 14 minutes, Austria on top. Croatia complete the group. Surprisingly, Germany are not in the competition.
A brave - and possibly stupid - move by recently relegated Inverness Caledonian Thistle. For various reasons, some of which are understandable to be fair, from next season they will be sharing Kelty Hearts' training facilities in Fife - meaning a 270 mile round trip for Inverness-based players to attend each training session. That would be akin to Watford sharing training Derby's facilities. Needless to say, the locals are up in arms... https://x.com/ICTFC/status/1793960546934399067
England U17 1-4 Portugal U17 Portuguese keeper kept them in it in the first half, England defence went AWOL in the second. Almost identical goals conceded: two men over for far post tap-ins for three that were conceded... some sort of Groundhog 45mins. Spain next, they lost 0-1 to France.
Doesn't feel like there is a FA Cup final today really. And many will probably be thinking it should be Coventry v Man C..
Never mind feel like it, I never even knew it. And to be honest I don't care - nor about the Celtic v Rangers final - am more interested in the A League grand final which is on right now, which looks like going into extra time.
And now they've won. 3-1 with two goals from a former Carlisle player - I'll bet he's glad he made the move...
