good news, for a change: gove standing down at the election. hoping he'll take jeremy *unt with him. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-69051548
Ooh, ooh, ooh, I bet I can get a soundbite out of this... Something about rodents evacuating a floating vessel which isn't going to be seaworthy for a good deal longer. I can't think of anything pithy at the moment, but I'm sure it'll come to me.
keep going! just had radio 4 on - there are around a hundred mps standing down, including lots from all parties.
Maybe. When we have a mod who shows consistency. When he is modding and not having a hissy fit and not modding because some nasty people have upset him.
Except when you do bother and come out of retirement to lock people out of a thread for saying something you don’t approve of. When people starting having a go at politicians you approve of you will be saying remember the no politics rule. The **** is you.
Looks like Filey's well known signature has validity. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
The no politics rule is relaxed when there is a significant event, which an election surely is. That's not an open door for a free for all, but it'd be silly to ignore it all together. Like most things, it relies on posters self moderating to make it work. Sticking to the issues rather than personal attacks should be the base point.
I’ve recently only acted when there’s been a report, which goes to every moderator on this site and we’re obliged to deal with it, everything else I’ve ignored. There’s never been any bias in the moderating, as proven by the fact that you think my political leanings are the opposite of what they actually are. if anyone else would like to be slagged off for voluntarily giving up their time to try and keep things in line on here, while completely unjustly being accused of doing things you never did, then feel free to put yourself forward to take over.
To add to that, I think it's fair to say that there are many topics where I have a very different opinion to OLM, but I can't think of many, if any actions he's taken that I have disagreed with. We tend to discuss the more contentious issues and posts between us, and I like to think that our own differences of views adds a level of balance, and not once have we had a significant difference of opinion on the outcomes.
Non-moderators aren't obliged to deal with anything. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
