We had to wait how many years since the emergence of Longstaff <lols>?! And how many injuries? Besides, Miley has a long way to go even now - not saying it was his fault, but by Christ did we lose a lot of games with him in the team. Too slow as well.
This is all well and good assuming that the youth team coaches are good enough to bring them on the way Howe and Co have improved most players in the 1st team
Just read that a £71m loss is about to drop off the PSR, significantly increasing spending power post July 1st. Think this is why we’re trying to get a few frees in quickly.
Was reading earlier that we may still be interested in a move for Ederson of Atalanta. Will surely now cost more than the £30m we were negotiating towards back in January.
For what it’s worth I think the sack rumours for ETH in front of the cup final are just totally disgraceful. I get that people don’t think he’s the right man. But it’s just gone to far. He’s took then to a final and I know they maybe should not be there but they are. He’s totally damned and it doesn’t sit well with me. And for the record I don’t like him. But this is wrong.
Agreed entirely but it's the press rather than Man Utd fans. I think there is a "worry" that if he wins and gets them into Europe then he'll be given another year. I'm not sure who they are currently getting who is better tbh - maybe Poch.
Lewin is a good player he's just had injury problems and wears a dress. If he stays fit he'd do fine.
This has to be pure BS. There is no way they would go for him surely given our experiences with injuries.
He's not the worst player ever, but he's not brilliant. The if in ' if he stays fit ' is a big one too... I suspect the rumours originate from the fact that he's coming into the last year of his contract and may therefore be available at a reduced price.
If Newcastle got him cheap and another striker of higher quality then we'd have a very good stable up top.
