That’s what I mean. Usyk has an iron chin. He got hit cleanly a few times and the crowd could sense ‘here we go, he’s gone’ and he just carried on. Fury meanwhile was stumbling got battered and had jelly legs in that 9th round.
I’m struggling to think of another occasion where I wasn’t cheering on an Englishman in a sporting event (I recall having divided loyalties when England played Ireland at football and half the Irish team were City players). I suspect from the thread I’m not the only one either. It shows what a knob Fury is. Frank Warren was making excuses for his post fight crap on talk sport this morning, claiming it’s his bipolar which means he has no filter and says what he thinks. He also claimed there was only one round in it.
You don’t even need to be bi-polar, people say things in the heat of the moment, specially when pumped with adrenaline. Frank Warren should be defending himself for not getting Fury out of the ring and away from the microphone. Everyone knows what kind of oafish character he is, and his culture runs very strongly in him. He’s said much worse in the past and he will no doubt say much worse again in the future. People would have been more shocked if he was graceful in defeat.
He has said far worse, is that some sort of excuse for his antics on Saturday? He actually claimed he had been educated and had seen the error of his ways. If it is genuinely due to his mental health, I guess it does put a different slant on it, but I thought Warren was just trying to cover hisnarse. Regardless, he’s a first class knob.
Jonny Nelson, who I’ve got a lot of time for, has had his say on Fury and his cronies. He said that their behaviour in Saudi left a bad taste in his mouth, calling them thuggish and rude. He also said that Fury needs calling out for it and enough is enough, it needs to stop. That’ll be Tony Bellew, Carl Froch and now Jonny Nelson that BIG JOHN FURY will be paggering when he sees them…… as if. When a level headed gent like Jonny Nelson is saying enough is enough regarding your behaviour then surely the penny should be dropping?
20 MILLION people illegally streamed Oleksandr Usyk's win over Tyson Fury costing rights holders £95m - with 18% from the UK.
They don’t have a clue, there’s no way of measuring it. They’ll have surveyed some people and extrapolated the results to represent the entire population. In other words, it’s utter bollocks!
Of course some of the people they asked may have said they didn’t illegally stream it when they did in which case the figure could have been higher.
That’s how tv viewing figures are done. Service providers have a pretty good idea of who’s doing what on their line.
It’s estimated, but not a complete guess and they didn’t ask anyone. The broadcaster gets a notification every time a site takes their feed and rebroadcasts it via a different site and they use an average number for each IPTV account. The amount of money lost is obviously nonsense, as if it wasn’t available for free, most probably wouldn’t have watched it.
One of the worst decisions ever seen in boxing. If memory serves me right even the police were called to look at how bent it was. I hope Catterall batters him senseless.
Our pub decided to show it quite late on (legally). I went in not expecting it and watched it. Certainly wouldn't have paid for it.
