I doubt it can be a worse appointment than Beale, it is of course the lowest of low bars to achieve a better one.
We seemed to manage to do worse than Beale after he left. Not saying he was a good fit, but there was a few wanted to give Dodds the gig. Think we can say Beale was better than Dodds at least. Part of my looks forward to see where Beale goes next and how his career ends up.
Not really, just rumours saying it's still, then some having a meltdown when someone else is saying it's not still anymore.
Hoping it is Still and the 'news' today is incorrect. Hope that it isnt games being played between the club and Still, dont want us to get off on that sort of footing. I think it would be an ambitious move by us and an incredible opportunity (but risk) for him. Imagine he gets it right at Sunderland with his already solid reputation, he'd be on a few huge clubs lists in a couple of years.
I am out on a limb. I think he will rebuild his career and do well. Whether he has to be part of a wider coaching team, maybe as an assistant, or whether he can be a number 1 I do not predict. But I do know when he was at Villa he was thought of very highly. Perhaps a case of too much too soon and he has overreached at Rangers. I wouldnt mind betting though 5 years from now he will be in a decent gig somewhere.
I 100% get the sentiment, but, we're currently in a period, correct me if I'm wrong, where we're in the midst of our longest period without a permanent manager/head coach. For me, you can forgive supporters for being anxious about that. Now, they (the club) could be playing the long game..."we won't be held to ransom", "we're sticking to a mode of operating for the long term"...and that would be admirable, in general. However, you can forgive a lifelong supporter who is fully in the dark for being uncomfortable in this situation. As has been said before...whatever is going on...I wish they'd just reset expectations publicly, whatever that update happens to be. We'll all *still* be here, whatever they say in that regard.
I just don’t think he’s cut out to be the main guy, that being said he didn’t come in with anyone which can’t have been easy, he’s young enough to rebuild elsewhere though
I agree, with the **** we've seen in the past decade, it would be good for us to not roll over or held to ransom. My concern is, if we're going too far with that stance that will hinder us from progressing. I think the appointment will give us a decent idea of what has happened in terms of getting one of our top targets.
And how much info have we heard weeks before the club have said anything? Personally, I've heard a lot. You can defend them blindly if you wish, a new manager should've been in by now, just a universal fact, don't care if their former club still has blankets over them. They've been given time and are still being given till the end of May.
Devils advocate here but something doesn’t stop being a rumour just because people on the internet say they’ve heard it first hand. not defending the club as it’s gone on long enough. But all we’ve heard are rumours. I’m waiting to see what the actual outcome is before judging how badly the club have managed it
Ok you believe whatever you want, I will go about my day as normal, and wait for a manager announcement from the club, not endless rumours
