Rumours that we might be losing our Head of Recruitment....Jimmy Dickinson.

Reason why ?.....Stoke have just sacked theirs.

Is there no end to Schumachers knifing of the club that gave him a start in management.

How fair is the Premier League....?

1.....Everton and Nottingham Forest had points deducted for financial irregularities and had to battle against relegation....which they might have deserved.

2.....Manchester City a club with more than than 100 offences being investigated.....If it had suffered the same fate....then Arsenal who played by the rules would have come top.....Should they not feel a little miffed at the way that the Premiership is being run ?

I’ve just seen an ugly rumour about Wayne Rooney speaking to the club about the head coach position.

Surely they couldn’t be that stupid?

I have literally just read that article on their site. I cannot believe that Hallett would even contemplate this so it has to be a massive wind up. I would rather his missus than him.

How on earth could a plonker like that get an interview.....
It's thanks to him that Argyle are still in the Championship.....the way Birmingham stuttered to a halt under his leadership was very obvious.

It’s all over the media from the BBC down to the Sun via, wait for it…. The New York Times.

I can only hope the conversation consisted of: “Gis a job! I know you got one” “No”.

Enough of this Scouser connection. Enough of the England Under 11’s connection . Enough of the Everton connection. Dewsnip Out!

There are 80 odd comments on the ‘Erald story and 650 odd on the BBC equivalent. Not one supports this mad idea (ie they are incredulous it would even be considered).

The club need to put out a denial very quickly before they lose their most important asset: the fans. Would any other club have had full houses for those four months after Christmas? I think not.

It's giving me the jitters....this talk of Wayne Rooney being in talks with Argyle regarding their management vacancy.

Is there a ruling that we can only bring in a scouser to do the job that we all don't know about.

    GOOD GRIEF....HELPPPPP.

Just opened up the Telegraph.....and the Sports supplement has on the front page in big letters......"ROONEY SET FOR PLYMOUTH JOB"

Please....please make it go away.....I cannot in the remotest part of my mind see how Rooney can do the job.

Simon Hallett rightly does not interfere in playing maters other than requiring that recruits are of good character and of course, setting a clear budget.

This, however, is a reputational matter for the club. No CEO and especially chairmen, who represent the share and other stake holders can allow the organisations reputation to be damaged.

This is such a reputational matter, at least for the club’s wonderful fan-base. The chairman must put to an end to it today

Wayne Rooney is in line to make a shock return to management at Championship club Plymouth Argyle.

Rooney the former England and Manchester United captain...is understood to have held talks with the Argyle board this week and has emerged at the leading candidate to take charge.

Sacked by Birmingham City in January after an alarming run of nine defeats in 15 games. Rooney is keen to make a swift comeback in the technical area to rebuild his reputation as a manager.

Argyle are searching for a new manager after the dismissal of Ian Foster towards the end of last season ...and if as expected Rooney is appointed...he will be reunited with Neil Dewsnip the club's director of football.....Rooney was at Everton's academy as a boy when Dewsnip was in charge......The pursuit of Rooney has been driven by Argyle's chief executive Andrew Parkinson.

Daily Telegraph....24/05/2024.......article continues for six more paragraphs.

It also reminds us that Rooney has signed up with the BBC as a pundit for this summer's European Championship.

I expect the final word would come from his wife Coleen....if she says no then it is dead in the water.

    Questions.

1.....Would the Rooney's move to Plymouth......I very much doubt it....NO

2.....Would Plymouth Airport suddenly have more demands....definately yes.....Wayne would be flying in and out every day.

3.....Plymouth's night life.....would it suit the Rooney's.....( it doesn't suit many players girl friends).......NO.

4.....Is it up in razzmatazz ???.....are Argyle being blinded by the glamour and maybe the drawing power that Rooney might bring......it didn't work at a bigger club like Birmingham so why would it work at little Argyle....his allegiance to PAFC would 'wayne' (did you see what I did there) the moment things went wrong or bigger fish came calling.

5.....Would the fans be behind it.....that is a major question....it could be the start of something big....or it could be the start of disaster and financial oblivion.....Simon Hallett hasn't the financial clout to save Argyle if it all went wrong.

A question popping up....could Rooney entice investment into the club.......Hallett has been seeking finance to help Argyle cope with Championship demands.

Another guarantee if Rooney became manager....we would have no chance of signing Jamie Vardy.

There’s a single story this morning that’s being copied around the media this morning saying “Argyle fans are divided about the appointment”.

Has anyone seen any single fan anywhere support it? I haven’t.

I also read in various places that it’s Andrew Parkinson who’s behind this, rather than Neil Dewsnip. Is there an ulterior motive such as the ability to bring in American investment? It’s been made clear that we’d need a substantial injection of cash if we were to get to the top 10 of the Championship and be looking upwards not down. All I’ve got to say is that I understand and accept that but it’s going to be effing difficult from League 1.
