So... looks like we're not getting Tuchel bcos Bayern couldn't find someone decent to replace him so he'll be staying.

If you're in that squad he'll have all the authority of a work experience kid on a building site.

Glad to see we're not the only club with dickheads making the decisions <laugh>

It does however beg the question, if Bayern can't find someone, are there any decent managers out there capable of taking on United?

I thought he'd confirmed he was leaving.

    Pretty sure that's the case.

One minute he's leaving, then negotiating to stay, but now leaving for sure is what I've read. Evidently he was popular with the players but not the hierarchy.

You guys are right. I heard it on the radio on Thursday, then it changed again yesterday!

When I heard the news, they were saying his contract has a year remaining. So it was assumed the club would basically tell him he's staying. I'm guessing he's decided to buy his contract out?

Allegri has been sacked by Juventus for non footballing reasons, had an outburst after a game and apparently insulted the Sporting Director.
So Juve will be in the market for a new manager now.
    Also means Allegri is free

De Zerbi is free now as well.
A contender you think? Or too early for him?

That's because the constant stream of media drivel mentions them.

De Zerbi is just one in a line of flash in the pan flavour of the months who've won and achieved **** all.

Add 'Big Ange' to that list.

Remember the utterly brilliant German manager who took Huddersfield up a few years back? Yeah, he was in line as well at some point. Just been sacked by Norwich.

I wouldn't have minded Potter so much had he not been unemployed since his last job!

The obvious candidate who is a big enough man for the job is Tuchel. Or Jose!

We should probably get our house in order and back Ten Hag for another season though.

I want to throw Gasperini into the ring.

What he's done at Atalanta over the past 8 years is incredible. Not just the progress the club has made in the league or Champions League but the way he's rebuilt sides 3/4 times and each time adapted the style of football, so they've played a different way certain seasons, and been successful. I don't know many managers doing that.

Granted it's Serie A so that's the only possible downside but I've watched them play a few times and the workrate and high intensity his team plays with cannot be faulted.

I'm with you, we should stick with ETH (even though I want him out on a personal level) if only for the fact that there are no suitable alternatives at the moment.

I would like to see what happens with Ancelotti, Allegri is a hot head and Tuchel seems to be something of a hand grenade. The other names are all pure speculation to fill up the column inches..

Well I can´t see Southgate taking over from ETH unless Rashford is sold in the summer. Being dropped from the Euro squad is hardly likely to make for a good working relationship but on the plus side, a full summer of rest might just be what Rashford needs right now.

I seriously doubt Rashford will have a vote on whomever United appoint as their next manager, either way.

Poch has now been added to the list of possible new managers, at least by the press.

So... as I was saying. Gasperini.

Now that is what you call workrate, what you call high intensity, and what you call complete domination against a side that was unbeaten... until tonight.

Why not Rúben Amorim? He’s just won his second Portuguese title in 4 years Sporting after they had waiting over 20yrs since their last one

He's a fairly new name in my mind and I've not watched Sporting. Portuguese league titles are fair enough but the pedigree of European success would swing it more.

When Klopp announced he was leaving their was abbc article about his replacement and they went through all these different metrics and Amorim from what I recall came out top overall. When Alonso was supposedly the front runner to replace Klopp his team actually play a3 at the back, just like Amorim does. Yet Liverpool have gone with a manager who plays a 4-3-3 like Klopp does .
