On loan Adam Idah scores the winner for Celtic in Scottish Cup Final. So, he has picked up a league winners and a cup winners medal in less than a season.

 

Well done! to the young man. This is what he said when interviewed post-match:

"I said I'd come here to try and score as many goals as I could, I didn't think I'd score a goal like this in front of all these fans. It's an amazing feeling.

"It's hard to put into words. Anyone here can see what it means to the fans, to the players. I've always supported Celtic, it's amazing.

"Football is tricky. I love it here, I've said it previously, it's a great club but I'm still contracted to Norwich. I'll go back in the summer and who knows?"

Interesting times ahead. If Idah stays at Celtic and Sargent gets sold to bolster funds, then we are left with an aging Barnes. SVH has gone back to Italy but we have Kamara returning.

 

Since the beginning of February when Idah joined Celtic on loan, Celtic have played 19 league or cup matches. Idah has clocked up 15 appearances, of which only 5 have been starts, and those mostly early on following his arrival. In other words, Brendan Rodgers soon reached the same conclusion as his home club managers, that Idah's impact is maximised when used as a sub. There is certainly talent there, but nobody, not even Idah, seems able to find the key to unleashing it from the first minute of a match.

 

There was one match in the PL where he was monstrously good, out of nowhere. I think he started that match, but since then has only ever shown flashes of brilliance

He was starting to develop a bit of a partnership with Sarge if I remember, they played a couple of games together and looked good but then he got injured for the rest of the season.

Id have liked to see them 2 starting up top together more often, Sarge would maybe play more of the Barnes pressing role

 

We're being linked with the left back from Thorup's old Danish Club on a Free Transfer Martin Frese, 26 years old, can also play Left and Right midfield

I could Suffolk, but I can't transfer appropriate posts from the old to the new. I presume one of our Mods would have to do that. GE2 suggested an updated thread way back on 14th April (post #2747); we've got through another 7 pages since then!

 

Why not just change the date in the title and keep going? One of the mods could do that.

 

That would be OK if Search worked efficiently, or if you think of posts as ephemera which might as well never have been once they've ceased to be marked "NEW" (there's no point, for example, in creating a new Thread Association Game thread). Personally I'd rather a transfers thread specific to a given season.

 

I've been away over the bank holiday, will sort it tonight.

Interesting (growing) thread of transfer suggestions and discussion of how our existing squad might fit around Thorup-ball(?).

 

I see there is an article in the Daily Record that defender Jose Cordoba has changed his plan to travel to Rangers for a medical to follow transfer interest from us. He is described by the author as the best defender in the Bulgarian league last season. 22year old Panamanian, but most of his (shortish) career has been spent abroad. Hope he is a left footer. Not that kind guys. .
