well the markets that have been bouyant are now in decline.. attached to the fact that nerves are on edge due to Labour being some "20"? points ahead.

I personally do not know where to put my vote ! I am a great believer in if it aint broke dont try to mend it!!!

All said and done [ whilst I might not that fond of the ruling party, I am not a type that because my great great grandad voted so and so . I must! ] the economy has recovered a great deal from the pains we temporarily went through.

I bear in mind in July 2019 when I had my operation the country had finally recovered from deep deep black hole the . gov had inherited to being in the black and the country was in credit.......
    then disaster ....
COVID followed by a more serious disaster ...... thank god .gov through being frugal had got us back into credit to pay out £bn's to keep us above water
Putrid invading UKR and the chaos of gas and electricity supplies going into melt down causing inflation to rocket and prompting the unions to demanded massive % pay increases which totally upset the the balance of the economy.

My take on JULY 4th GE ............... ! would leave things are they are for another 12 month's!

    The cycle of British politics;

    - the Torys privatise as much as possible, including essentials like water, gas, rail, health etc, then stand by whilst those private companies milk the situation with next to zero investment, leading to crap services like trains that don’t run and raw sewage pumped into rivers and water supplies.
Labour then get elected and spend money fixing all the **** that the Tories left through years of underinvestment and neglect.
The Tories, from the opposition bench, successfully convince the voting public that Labour have overspent and we need another round of Tory frugality.
Then the whole cycle begins again.

Until political parties and individuals are held to account, that’s the way it will continue.

Your first point about the markets isn’t correct. The markets don’t like uncertainty, there’s obviously uncertainty due to a GE, apart from anything else parliament is put in stasis now until the GE takes place. Once the result is known things will settle down.

Your second point is also incorrect, anyone with an ounce of intelligence will know how you’re going to vote, based on your first point,,let alone the rest of your post. Also if you don’t think we’re broke you must have been on another planet. I’d say 99% of people think we’re broke, the debate is how we fix things.

We were in the Mire even before covid, again everyone except the most diehard Tories knows that as well.

As I previously said everyone knows we’re in a mess, the decision everyone of us has to make is how to best get out of it. To suggest otherwise really is burying your head in the sand.

I’m sure most on here know my views, suffice to say many in the country whatever their politics, are fed up with this particular lot of Tories, so for all our sakes I hope they get a whooping

I think most people agree we are in the smelly brown stuff.
Where we start to disagree is around what caused it and how best to fix it.
Some things simply cant be fixed by anyone - the utterly disastrous Brexit for example - no party can fix that bag of spammers - all they can do is slow the decay as our world status plummets.
I honestly don’t think Sunak and his ever-shrinking band of loyal supporters have the answers - if they had then they would have fixed things within their 13 year tenure.
I’m not sure Labour have the answers either, but it’s time for a change IMHO. To stick with the current bunch is like to keep betting on the same losing horse in the hope that it will some day come in.
Betting on a different horse may also not yield a win, but at least it keeps the owners and bookies guessing.

……. and don’t try and mention the cut in NI contributions - that’s the Tories trying to phase out the State Pension by stealth. It’s how it’s funded.

The problem is, there’s nobody worth voting for. The Tories have cocked it up, and we do need a change, I just don’t see Labour being better, just a different version of the same, so in that case, why change?
This country needs a different option to the same 2 wheels of misfortune. As a friend of mine always says “same lie, different tie”.
I don’t trust Sunak or Smarmy and their parties. Let’s do the Monster Raving Looney Party, at least they will do what they say on the tin!

I probably will this time. I like Heidi Alexander, our Labour candidate - I met her a few months back and she talked a lot of sense.
It’s her, or re-elect Robert Buckland. Out of that choice I’m inclined towards Ms Alexander.
