Wonder if Youan at Hibs would be a good replacement for Philogene. 4 goals and 8 assists this year in Scotland. Their fans say he’s inconsistent though. He’s either a world-beater or goes through the motions.
Half the Championship are after him, but Acun has apparently taken notice of him. We wouldn’t outdo anything Celtic could offer, but what a signing he would be. I also rate both Duk and Miovski at Aberdeen.
Duk’s had a poor season this year compared to last and been in and out the side. Miovski is good but I think he’ll go to Rangers.
Apparently we're after James McConnell on loan from Liverpool. https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.c...erpool-youngster-early-target-james-mcconnell https://anfieldindex.com/68520/repo...o-carvalho-trick-with-rumoured-loan-move.html
I wonder if LR was influential in persuading Liverpool that City was a good place to nurture their young talent?
Depends if you believed Liams turn of events. According to him, players only wanted to come because of him and his philosophy.
Liam did suggest that a lot. At the time, it could have appeared he was simply bigging up the club, the team etc. presenting our case on the media stage whilst celebrating his approach. Which worked as many fans/members of the media accepted this and amplified it further as a truth. But now with the revelations since the sacking, it seems he was actually speaking directly to the board, through the media, to try and shore up his job and gain leverage in the power struggle.
If we sold Greaves does that go to was Wonder how many of these would come back after playing for hjm?
He has but he's quite similar to Delap in his style of play. Maolida is also available from Hertha Berlin (was on loan at Hibs).
You are bang on with the last point. He said in May 2022 "But I reject all of these. Even if they offer £30m to me, I will not sell him because I think his presence is much more important than anything for this club at the moment." He then sold him for £16m(plus add-ons) which was the right thing to do for the player and the club. If a attractive offer comes in for either or both of them they'll absolutely want to leave to progress their careers and they'll absolutely be sold. Intriguing question is can we afford not to sell at least one of them?
He does, but the same article says - 'Vice-chairman Tan Kesler has spoken openly about wanting to keep Giles at City and so, too, did Liam Rosenior before he left the club earlier this month, and while the ultimate decision will lie with the new manager, the ex-Wolves man is keen to continue his relationship with the ambitious Championship club', which suggests it's optional. Clear as mud.
