Seems to be working for Bologna. They’re 3rd in Serie A and have the second best defensive record in the league. In fact, unless they concede 4 goals in their last game against Genoa, they’ll have fewer goals conceded in Serie A than Man City did in the Prem this year.
Should be fun. But the KC crowd had enough trouble with Allsop passing to his CBs, they’re going to hate this
For me personally, I've never had an issue with playing the ball around deep a bit, and no issue with Allsop playing to a CB either. It's what rarely materialised after that step that I found frustrating. It always seemed to be a combination of a lack of overall movement or the decision not to make that pass when the movement was there. It was all very static a lot of the time, as if we were biding our time for that 'obvious' moment which rarely opens up for you without attempting to force the issue harder.
Right, so he didn't get forced to drop Allsop and play Pandur. But when Pandur was dropped entirely, can you not see why that's a call which will be questioned, when the likes of Allsop letting in a few soft ones, and not utilising a goalscorer under the guise of 'fitness' whilst simultaneously selecting evidently 'less fit' wouldn't be a question any board would be asking in the end of season review? Especially after significantly backing someone for the run in and ultimately dropping a place? I'm absolutely not saying that sacking Liam was right, that will be proved in hindsight - but what I am saying is the board aren't nuts for asking the questions, and if the finance, scouting and recruitment network aren't matching then there's a decision to be made. Whether right or wrong this will all be proven in hindsight. And it's now on Acun, not the coach so far as he's just sacked a decent one. So go out and justify it.
Hard to argue with that. The situation now is what it is and until we start seeing who we're going to be playing under, how we're going to be playing and who we end up bringing into the team, and how we use them, then there's no telling whether the decision to let LR go will have been the right move or not. I think it was a hard decision to make and to take, but probably the right one in the long run.
If Liam gets a new gig, I wouldn't be surprised if Alsop followed. I think Liam dropping Pandur from the bench in favour of Ingram was the straw that broken the camel's back. I see Grant is keen on signing Timothee as well as Nixon, but Timothee is wanting to fight for his place with us apparently, it will be interesting to see what happens with the former, though if Alsop and Ingram go then he could well be number 2.
If only Walter had been out of work the last few months, meaning we could have lined up work permits and other details before pushing Rosenior out, given that Acun had clearly had his mind made up for a while now... If it's also just down to work permits, things can be announced 'pending work permits' etc. Either he's keen for the job and happy to sign once the minutiae are sorted out or he isn't.
You need to move on mate. We'll have a new manager next month you should be getting yourself all worked up to complain about him.
Wouldn't hate him to be honest. Knows what it takes to get a side promoted. Just not convinced he'd be Acun's flavour.
Sounds like what we could do with, not impressed with what I've heard about Walter, especially with the size of squad rebuild required.
